Many people join the military these days to get their life straight. The
military offers many opportunities to help you have a successful career when you
decide to get out. They offer you benefits that set you up financially and
educationally. Taking advantage of these benefits can set you farther ahead towards
your career than your peers; whom have not joined the service. The real question
that you have to ask is “Why not join the military?”
Now there are those people that think it is a waste of time to join the military
to better your career because it is a totally different life that does not have the same

Many employers in the civilian world require that you have some type of
degree to begin a career, but college can be quite expensive. Many people can’t
afford this or go into debt because of it. Joining the military solves all of these
problems with the educational benefits that you receive. While you are on active
duty, the military will pay for your tuition to go to school for a degree of your choice.
They will also give you extra time off work to complete your classes. If you fail to
complete college in your term of service, you can always use the G.I. Bill. The G.I. Bill
is there for when you are done with active duty and have transferred over to the
civilian side. This benefit provides you with 100 percent of tuition cost along with a
housing allowance every month that you are going to school full time. This housing
