Persuasive Essay About Fishing
I'm known by my friends and people i go to school with as a fishermen. Everybody i know knows that i have a passion for fishing and most people like to challenge to fishing matches that i love to accept. I started fishing when i was 2 years old with my grandpa and i haven't ever stopped. Fishing has done many things for me, such as make me a more patient person. There has been a lot of hard days of fishing that has tested the limits of my patients whether it was because i couldn’t catch a fish all day or if everything was going wrong. Fishing has also helped me be more perceptive of my surroundings. I'm always keeping my eyes and ears out to see if i can hear or see fish feeding, schooling, or swimming around. I think i'm a much harder worker from all of my fishing adventures. Whether it's a 9 hour kayaking trip or a fishing trip where i have to hike a couple miles to one fishing spot or maybe spending hours researching the best baits, weather conditions, and the moon phase. …show more content…
I dedicate a lot of time before each fishing trip to gather information on the wind,pressure,moon phase,temperature, and water level and they all affect where and how i will fish on any given trip. Fishing has made me a lot of friends that i wouldn't have if i never fished. Some of my best friends i have met while out on the lake fishing or met through fishing.     Cole, Tyler, and our faculty adviser, Dr. Andy Hansen decided that we, as a club, would have a cookout on the Tuck and a learning session for the newcomers to the sport on the fourth. Nothing could be farther from the truth, a lot of deferent fish hooks, spears and traps can be made of wood and carved with a knife. If you are fishing with a hook and line there are a few important things you will need. You will need a hook, line, and bait. If you don't have these things they can be easily made. To make a fish hook all you need is a knife and some wood or bone. A very simple and effective hook to make is a gorge hook. All you need to do is take a stick, break it to the length needed then sharpen it into a point at both ends. If you don't have a line you can make one out of tough plant fibers. Basswood, elm, cedar, nettle, yucca are very good plans to use. The fiber will be easier to work with if it is soaked in water for a few minutes. To make the fibers into strong line, tie two ends together, then start twisting the fibers clockwise, twist each one individually and not together, until tight. Then wrap them together in a counter clockwise and tie them at the end. The opposite twisting and wrapping help keep the line from unwinding. To get bait use bugs or worms. When you fish cut open the belly to see what they are eating. If you don't want to stay with your line for hours there are things to do so you don't have to sit there with it.
