Re:
Suggested Improvement Plan

Hello Jacqueline,

I have had the chance to review the information you presented on how to improve Persuade Cafes profits and Stock prices. I would like to take this opportunity to discuss a few changes that I believe are necessary to make, in order for Persuade Café to operate at a profit and increase year over year sales as well as continue to please clients it serves.
After carefully reviewing the surveys I have come to conclusion that Persuade Café does not have consistent service. Numerous surveys state that the speed at which service is offered is different from store to store and employee to employee. This inconsistency stems from improper training of employees. In order for a franchise to be successful it has to make sure that 99% of its stores are operating with the same motto, same philosophy and same mission. Inability to offer the same type of service in each store makes a franchise difficult to operate. Employees are the forefront of your business, your employees represent you as a company, making sure that your employs are well trained should be at each stores top priority.
Surveys suggest that the company has a sink or swim training structure. This is unacceptable. Training ones employees is associated with a very small overhead cost and therefore should never be ignored. Your representation should be uniform in how drinks are made and at what speed. Training needs to be implemented for current as well as new hire employees, especially now that the pay per hour has increased, as we can start expecting more out of the employees.
Employs can be held responsible for more than just making a cup of coffee. In fact your employees can be a great way for you to advertise your business. The company website has a very limited number of views and a very small profit comes from website sales. I suggest advising employees that the word

To keep these highly skilled professionals and other hard-working personnel, the company has to treat them well. That is why, in 2012, there was an increase in operating expenses of 3.6% “primarily attributed to increased personnel and information technology costs to support our growth initiatives” (XO Group Inc., 2012). While spending more might not seem like the best idea for companies, it meant that XO Group was willing to highly regard the needs of their employees. It is important for companies to truly care for their employees. Having satisfied employees leads to an increase in production, enhanced employee morale and ultimately, an increase in profitability. Also, when workers are satisfied, they tend to become more knowledgeable, making them a more valuable asset to the…

Inconsistency in management and how each branch is run is also a big problem. Customers see your brand, and expect consistency in every cafe. You cannot afford to let management overrun your business with their own ideas, thus almost creating a franchise! This is drastically lowering the company’s standards.…

Logistics has been one of the most important activities of easyInternetcafé (eIc) in the opening of new locations. It has become one of the few non-core activities that are in direct control of the company. It means supplying eIc locations across Europe with initial assets, furniture and PC’s. It also means managing all the activities in relation to opening all new stores. However under the new business model of franchises, eIc is now to only deliver proprietary equipment to the franchises, and all the other activities involved with opening new locations are the responsibility of the franchisees. There are many steps involved with launching a new location and eIc has a strong interest in its success. Due to high costs and inefficiencies that have occurred in the present logistics program I have researched options in finding a solution to working towards success in logistic for both eIc and each new franchise owner.…

Based on the research from other companies my proposal and recommending for improving our business model for PersuadeCafe . I was able to gather that we are in need of improvements in our sales market, products, design, technology, operations, communication, customer service, finances and human resources. Base on the reports the company’s revenue is down 10%. The company revenue is down 10.3 which is a due to the economy and our competitors such as McDonald and Dunkin Donuts. Persuade Café online sales are at 4%. There is a slow growth of Espresso Drinks at 21%. We are looking at stock prices being down 27% from its highest point and closing out at $17.12, which is 27.4% down from 2005 year-end closing of $23.73.…

Employees are often regarded as the most important part of a business because without them the firm would be unable to produce its goods or offer its service, it would cease to exist. Employees are human resources and need to be treated and managed in a certain way. With the work place ever changing, both employers and employees need to adapt quickly to keep up. This starts at the recruitment stage, with employers choosing staff with the desired skills. They can then give you staff training to enhance their skills, helping both the business and employee to improve.…

The Broadway Café was first established in 1952 by my grandfather. The Broadway Café immediately became the hotspot, but over time lost business due to its lack of ability to compete with competitors in the 21st century. I have recently inherited the Broadway Café and have transformed it into the business it should be in the 21st century. I started the café off with a competitive advantage where it can level with competitors around the area. The café has affordable and reasonable prices for the customers which puts the café at a cost leadership advantage and as well as a differentiation advantage with its unforgettable recipes that my grandfather has kept all these years. The Broadway Café has managed to stay at a competitive advantage by implementing IT into the café. There’s available entertainment on certain nights, Wi-Fi and a Kiosk accessible to the customers, a customer loyalty program…
