Our country has gone through many changes and development for the past few years. The continuous process made great impacts in the lives of millions of Filipinos. Relatively, the changes have given us advantages not to mention the disadvantages it brought causing downfall to many people. There are numerous questions concerning the issues and problems existing in the Philippine Educational System as to how we can resolve it the best way we could to attain that kind of quality of education we have been searching and longing for. Where do we begin and how do we respond to such? Public schools are the building blocks of our societies. They can be considered our foundational instruments. Although these venues of learning play significant roles, they are unable to provide the best they can, due to their numerous flaws. As I’ve gone through different readings and researches, questions were arising in my mind as to what solutions are applicable in addressing the problems about the quality of education, affordability, budget, mismatch, integration of sex education in the curriculum, R.A. 9710 (Magna Carta for Women) and other concerns which are somehow related to it. I will always stand for what I believe in according to my observations that we have good guidelines and policies on education but what is lacking is the ability to implement such in accordance to the needs of every school, majority of which belong to the public education system. Generally, Philippine Education aims to provide quality and free education both for the elementary and secondary public schools but again this have not been observed and understood well causing it to be a burden most especially to the students and parents. Declining standards in public schools is one of the most controversial education issues today is the continuing decline in student learning standards.…

The research is bound to finding out the differences and similarities of Philippine K-12 from other countries. The researchers also conducted an interview with Mrs. Luz Mandaue and she said that the educational system in other countries is better than the Philippine K-12. K-12 was compared with the U.S. educational system and the Chinese educational system because their government gives importance to their education. Our research will show that reforms are usually for the better especially when they see that we are always left behind. The researchers’ study is about K-12 and some other educational system of countries like U.S., China, Japan and Singapore. The researchers would like to know why Filipinos prefers to study in foreign countries rather than in their own countries. And this study would also like to show what benefits will the incoming generation of students gain with this system, and to show how other countries adjust during an educational reform. Cornelio, Mrs. Suyo says that K-12 was implemented to uplift the quality of education especially among our Filipino learning. She also agrees that K-12 is a good thing. To her, K-12’s main goal or focus is “to provide or equip our learners with lifelong learning skills and to produce learners who will become globally competitive and they will be able to survive in the cycle called life”. She thinks that K-12, although not immediately, will solve the unemployment problem. Asked about K-12’s effects on the parents, teachers, and students she says “The effect is varied depending on the person. Parents, somewhat negative as they were not given clear information on K-12. Teachers, they have a clear understanding of K-12 since they were trained on what K-12 education is about. Students, they find it strange, but eventually, they will be able to understand that it is for their own good”. She believes it is worth it as students are given enough time to think of their career while being equipped with skills necessary to aid that choice. She knows that the DepEd officials are prepared to proceed with K-12 but also stresses out the fact that none of them know what the current state is in the field. She is rather disappointed on some of the parents who complain about K-12 as they do not understand the beauty of K-12. Along with Mrs. Cornelio and Mrs. Mananquil, she says that there would be no financial problems on K-12 for senior high school is free in public schools and Government-assisted in private schools. She also brings a sigh of relief to professionals saying that the skills given to the K-12 senior high graduates are the ones needed in factories and farms leaving professional tasks…
