Zoe Yang

Direction: Describe a place or environment where you are perfectly content. What do you do or experience there and why is it meaningful to you? “Zoe, go through the West Bridge and get a pot of hot water for me,” said my grandmother. “OK,” I answered. The West Bridge is the symbol of my whole childhood. It is near my grandma’s house. I just need to walk for 50 meters to attain it. I love it so much because it almost represents my homesickness. Since I was a baby, I grew up with my grandparents in a small countryside. The West Bridge always stands there with the river, the farms, the lawn and all the fowls which rely on this land. They constitute our whole hometown. This stone bridge is old enough to let people respect it. My grandpa told me that since Qing dynasty, this bridge had already been here. When I first had the memory, I remembered that the steps on the bridge were very uneven. Also the face of the steps is rough. There are many little holes on it like caused by hydrops of the rain. It looks like a wrinkled face of an old man. Under the bridge, there is a small river. Around the river, there are flourish grass and trees growing by the two sides. I love the bombax the most among these plants. When spring comes, flowers grow happily on its branches. They are so beautiful even when their petals are blown on to the ground. I enjoy most when the petals spread over the bridge while the wind brings the perfume to me. When the West Bridge is covered of petals, it looks surprisingly dreamlike because they match so well to be old- timey. It is a beautiful scenery line in my hometown. Since I could walk by myself, my grandpa started to take me to play on the bridge. I was very shy at that time and could only always play with the stones on my own, but children in the countryside were more hospitable and outgoing. They also liked to play, run and enjoy on the bridge. When they saw that I was alone, they

It is located in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, and is the tallest stone structure in the world, forever displaying the hope of the people. Surrounded by flags, it represents the ideals of America, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The flags themselves represent purity, vigilance, and perseverance, among other things, all essential to the success of the American Dream today. The background of painting gradients from a dark blue down to an off-white because there is hope even in the hardest times, and encourages striving for what is right even when it seems impossible. The lack of detail in the painting is indicative of the straightforwardness of the American Dream. It does not need embellishment, it is the same for everyone and exists in the simplest form in every American heart. The Washington Monument showcases the American Dream, the dream that every American can achieve anything they set their mind to, just like George Washington did while he fought for freedoms that we still live by in this modern…

It has a vertical, upright position bearing a resemblance of a sword wrapped in a singular ribbon, circling the blade until a wing conceals both intertwined objects from behind; On the other hand, the base of the sword may presumably be absorbing raw, brilliant kinetic energies, snaking in an upward motion, to accumulate unlimited power. Mistakably, a right side angle perception of the sculpture may represent a bird that is flying downward at impeccable speed, or perhaps a flower at the initial stage of blossoming from its trapezoid-like plant pot. Amid the sculpture lies a batch of multiple flowers emphasizing its graceful elegance, confined in jagged concrete walls, as if it belonged in a botanical gardens. With the feelings Bloom invokes, it may correlate with knowledge, growth, and tranquility; the flower blossoming symbolizing tranquility and growth, and the sword “wielding”…

There’s no other place in the world where I feel the most at home than being at Long Beach Island. There you can smell the fresh, salty air of the ocean as the warm breeze brushes across your face. It is a place where the sand, sometimes chilled by the water or boiling hot up in the sand dunes, fiddles its way through your toes one by one sending chills down your spine with every step. Off in the distance you can hear the chiming of bells as the ice cream men call children of all ages to cool themselves off with a frozen treat. This is the place that all summer long, I am lucky to call home.…

Going onto the bridge from the Brooklyn side during a sunset maybe the most breathtaking thing you can do and the most breathtaking sight to see in New York city. The view of the sky scrapers of lower Manhattan competing in height across that sky as the sunset is occurring, gives u a sense of freedom sand luck to be living in this country. The towering height of the new freedom tower paints the background of the bridge like a painting of the future. Mayakovsky and Mumford were utterly socked and amazed at the site they saw but I 'm sure this site was nothing possibly imaginable for them. After reading the poems of these two writers I was able to fixate my mind on the little things to appreciate as you cross the bridge. The beauty of this bridge that not many people have the luxury to cross every day. The beautiful architecture and the time the spent to build the cable wires and stone walls. The little things as the Statue if Liberty and the sunset behind the buildings in the crisp water are many thing that make this city such a joy to live in ad Mumford and Mayakovsky reiterate that and convince young people that this bridge is indeed an integral art of history and art of the future. As an alternative, walking across this bridge and encountering the people full of life and the people on the bicycles happy, wile you witness the ferries and boats and city…

I with the help of a group of friends and family started up a small daycare nearby, so that the kids could play together while the parents go enjoy the shopping or the museum it was nice to see our son Apisi playing with the other children. Somedays I still have a hard time believing that this all worked out how I went from a lonely man working in the duty free shop to one day being part of a big community and being part of a wonderful family. I guess it shows that when you become inspired you should jump on it while it lasts and great things can come of…
