Personal Reflection On Totem Tutoring
One activity that reflects my personal commitment to community service is Totem Tutoring. Totem Tutoring is a place where students at Mountain Pointe can come and be tutored by other students who are knowledgeable in specific subjects. Initially, I started tutoring at Totem because I was unknowingly in room where it was taking place, and a student asked me for help understanding chemistry. Once I discovered that I was unwittingly participating in the program, I decided to continue my involvement as a way to give back to student body and hopefully brighten someone’s future.     I was involved in many service learning experiences all throughout highschool. I was on National Honors Society and we would ring bells for Salvation Army and adopt children around Christmas time. We often volunteered at schools to help watch children, while parents were receiving help in finding careers or when they were being helped in some other manner. However, my favorite service learning that I was involved in was helping coach Special Olympics.
