Personal Reflection
In this personal reflection essay I describe my physical activity for seven days. I decided to start my tracking today, Thursday, April 20th, 2017. I woke up early because I did not have a class until eleven. I then decided to go for a quick morning workout. Working out in the early morning helps to wake me up and become motivated for the day. I went to the Payne Center at 7:45. I ran a mile on the treadmill and then abs. I did two sets of 25 sit ups and 25 crunches. Other than that, my only other fitness activity was walking to and from class and then to the library that night.
Now I will explain my physical activity going back to the past three days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. On Monday, I went to an aerobics class at twelve in the

On the weekends my schedule is very different and more relaxed. However, I still plan to get some physical exercise in this weekend. On Friday I plan to get a quick workout in by running with two of my friends on the Longleaf Trace. My friends and I sometimes like to vary where we workout. On Saturday, I plan to go the Longleaf Trace again, however I might get busy with schoolwork for the next week. The last day, Sunday, I do not plan to do any physical activity. I go to church on Sunday mornings, and I see this day as a day of rest. I will attend a church service, relax, get my homework done, and get organized for the upcoming …show more content…
I chose this exercise because I have been wanting to find an aerobic activity that might help reduce the anxiety that I experience during the week. I looked online for group class exercise descriptions here at Southern Miss. While reading the various group exercises, the description of cardio kickboxing really caught my eye. This class could be intimidating at first, but in the long run I consider it to be quite beneficial in helping to lesson my anxiety and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. After completing this assignment, I have realized that I participate in more physical activities during the weekdays than the weekends. I could also workout more during the school week. To accomplish this goal of more exercise during the weekdays, I must devise a workout schedule that fits my class schedule each day. Personally, this involves maintaining patience and persistence. I want to make these changes because I believe exercise is important to one’s overall fitness. To take care of one’s body involves physical and mental health and to avoid a sedentary lifestyle is the most important decision one can

In this report I am going to discuss the journey that me and my students were on and review my intervention exercise of four weeks. This intervention was set in place because my students would show up to lesson on a Monday afternoon with what seemed to be very little motivation. So my intervention was to check to see if by getting my students to partake in a physical activity will help improve motivation, productivity and quality of learning. I will be discussing my results, which will include emerging themes, what I expected and what actually happened and most importantly the students’ progress before/during/after the intervention.…

The first challenge was for each of the students in the group to run at least 20 laps of the gym during the month. They tracked progress and encouraged their friends to accomplish the task. Then the next month, they challenged their peers to another exercise goal – push-ups, sit ups, lunges, jumping jacks were to be done throughout the time in our program, helping each student to understand the importance of daily exercise in a healthy…

“Move Yourself” is a book written by Tedd Mitchell, Tim Church, and Martin Zucker in 2008 about the benefits of exercise. The book also outlines steps that can be taken to slowly improve exercise behaviors for those of any activity level, based on the exercise research performed by the authors. This book was chosen for review after reading a brief description of it. I figured I would gain more personally. After reading others opinion of the book, including those of celebrities, on how this book changed their exercise habits I was sold. The book turned out to be interesting, helpful, and packed full of tools that I plan to implement into a daily routine. During this read I learned just how simple changes can make a big difference. I loved that they incorporated scenarios to better explain some of the concepts.…

If I am not at school, I usually am either at band practice, exercising, or working. During marching band season, band takes up the vast majority of my time and it takes up even more due to the fact that I am part of the drumline. Our school has the drumline participate in various events around the school causing me to dedicate even more time to band. Once marching band season ends and concert season begins, I begin to dedicate more time towards working and less time towards band. This makes it so that throughout the majority of the school year I do not have much leisure time at all. However every day I do some form of exercising, either running or lifting weights. Recently, I have been preparing to run a half marathon sometime in January.…

Reflecting back upon my table of personal leisure inventory, I can see that I am currently engaged in a lot of physical, health and social leisure activities. Working out at the gym, playing basketball, and dancing are all integral parts of my life and the physical and health benefits I get from them are amazing. All my leisure activities are social benefits as well as each activity I have listed requires me to be social. A couple of my activities also give me cultural benefits as well. Hanging out with friends is a great cultural benefit because depending on which friends you are with you adapt to the culture surrounding them. Or in my case I have a sense of different culture when I am with my friends. Also,…
