Personal Reflection
Personal reflection
An effective self - reflection can lead to insightful individual growth and transformation, there are many learning theorists in the West who argued that ‘critical self-reflection is the core ingredient in personal transformation’ (http://www.best-personal-growth-resources.com). Therefore, this personal reflection will analyse what I have learned over three years at University, my journey over the module SM3035 Discovering Entrepreneurs where I will reflect on the topics covered in lectures. Furthermore, I will evaluate the future paths and the perspective of applying learning from the module to the actual live. Additionally, this paper will analyse the effectiveness of the group works where the findings will reflect on the Twelve Cs Team building.
I am currently a third year Human Resource Management student. When I started a University I was almost four years out of overcome those challenges. In particular, I started using a planner with a clear defined deadlines and realistic goals and to-do-lists which has become an integral part of my daily life. In terms of self – motivation for me it was just a matter of setting up a clear objectives and goals on the path to my desired career. I knew that if I want to succeed and become a professional HRM specialist I have to study, therefore it was the main motivating factor for me. However, Maslow’s 1943 Hierarchy of Needs illustrated a broader understanding of motivating factors that influence human behaviour along with the principles of how to combine effectively time management with our needs.
On the third year of University I was inspired by the module Designing Entrepreneurs SM3035, as the core aim of which was to introduce the principles of entrepreneurship or how to start your own business from the scratch. Even though I was not planning to open my own business, though, I found this module highly informative and motivating. The lecture teacher was very passionate about the module and therefore

Procrastination and typing are two challenges that concern me the most about my online learning. I sometimes important things off until last minute typically because I get busy doing other things and forget about them .I usually think about them at the last minute and try to hurry to get things done. In the area of social psychology the self is the focus of study. Psychologist have pondered on questions such as what is the self?, what causes a person to develop a self?, does oneself vary from one person to the next person’s self?, and what causes a person to worry about the self? (Myers, 2010). Social psychology has revealed that self is not the same from person to person, if a person is asked to identify self his or her response will change from one person to the next. However, the multiple responses does not make one answer wrong over the next person’s answer, it is just a matter of each individual determining what is self in their own mind. Because of this it is often wondered how many self’s there are. If a person were to be asked this, one might be inclined to answer that more than exists, this response would be correct usually viewed is the body self, interpersonal self, inner self, and the social self. The self-recognized self identifies what is considered yourself; however, this does not mean that other peoples see you the same. There are a few theories that express this such as the spotlight effect and the illusion of transparency. The spotlight effect the belief of a person that all eyes are on them and everyone is focusing all their attention on how one’s appearance or behavior, when in reality they really are not (Myers, 2010). The illusion of transparency is the idea of a person being aware of their own emotions in turn it is believed that others can read their emotions as they seem to be obvious (Myers, 2010). These theories utilize the social world to impact a person’s concept of self as well as their thought.…

I am always thinking of ways to generate money. Some of my best qualities are helping people. The neighborhood kids call me Mrs. T. and I am always passing out little treats to the kids in the neighborhood. My worst qualities as a person are not having enough confidence in myself. It is hoped that after reading this module you will actually see the potential of a career in entrepreneurship, and experience a desire to start a venture of your own. At the same time there might be certain inhibitions in your mind whether such a task is feasible, practical and sustainable. For every task one needs certain competencies. In this module you would learn in detail about the entrepreneurial competencies. Whereas competencies reinforce a person’s perception of feasibility of a career option, there also has to be the will and urge, a ‘perception of the desirability.’ Is it not impossible that entrepreneurship has a key role to play in economic development, yet there are very few who ever think of it as a career option? And, it is not that they may be lacking in skills. What one often finds is the lack of motivation! Competencies equip you with the knowledge of how to do (‘know-how’) of entrepreneurial behavior and motivation provides answers to why to do (‘know-why’) of entrepreneurial behavior. You would also be learning about why people opt for entrepreneurship. The question of ‘why entrepreneurship’ is also linked to reward expectations, be these financial, social status or psychological satisfaction. In case of entrepreneurship, successful performance of the venture itself becomes a reward for the entrepreneur.…

The task that was given to us at the start of the semester was to make a group consisting of 3-4 people and collaboratively work with one another to achieve the goal of a 15-minute speech. The topic that was presented to my group, which consisted of myself, Josh Chua, Jack Winton and Greg Scopes was that of Marketing Mix Strategy. Through the week’s leading up to the speech, the group formulated ideas and attempted to find ways to keep the audience interested while trying to express key points of information on our topic. Although we felt prepared before the speech as a group we were nervous because we knew there were many things that we hadn’t touched on. Within this reflection I will touch on positive aspects of our speech such as parts that we excelled in and I will cover parts that negatively affected our speech such as things that we failed to produce.…
