Personal Narrative: Xavier Kohler
As I walked into my Spanish class that Thursday morning, I noticed someone new; someone who has never been in that class at this time of day; someone who has been at Midwest High School for a decade; someone I have been in love with since I moved to West County almost three years ago. Before me, stood the popular and well-known Xavier Kohler.
Midwest High had partially outdoor halls, so I could see the white flakes of snow around the crown of Xavier’s light brown hair. He glanced my way, and I noticed his beautiful emerald green eyes glistening off of the classroom light. As he smiled at me with his pearly white teeth, his left eye twinkled like a midnight star, and my heart melted.
Today, he is wearing a light blue polo. His dark khaki pants

Outside of school, he was a competitive cheerleader, and the best one around our county. He had records in all four of the sports he was in. He is every teacher’s favorite student, because of his excellent academic profile. He was an excellent artist to say the least. He painted murals throughout the school with the help of our art teacher.
Every guy wanted to be him, and every girl, including myself, wanted to date him. It was like Xavier was dreamt of then brought to life. I have never seen such a beautiful human in my seventeen years of living.
I looked down at my brown leather boots and heard an angelic voice from across the room calling my name. I glanced up and seen Xavier staring at me ever so slightly. He was trying not to make it noticeable that he was looking at me, but I could definitely tell what he was trying to do. He walked over towards me for the first time since I have known him and I noticed that he was much taller than me. I am five feet seven inches tall, and he was easily a head taller than me. His chapped lips parted, and out of his mouth came that angelic voice once again. “Emma, will you do me the honor of being my date to the Prom?”
My heart stopped, and suddenly I could not breathe. I was not sure what I had heard was what was actually said. The last thing I remember, I was on the ground, blacked

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

I’m happy with who I am today, just as everyone should be. But if I could change anything about myself, I’d want to have more motivation to do things. In the mornings before school I can barely get out of bed because I’m so tired and don’t want to go to school. I’m exceedingly intelligent but I don’t have any drive. I procrastinate on most of my work, and sometimes I just don’t want to do the work. Right now I’m rank 14 in my class but I could’ve been higher if I had any drive my freshman year. I don’t think about how my decisions now will impact me later and when I do, I don’t really care. I also don’t have much motivation to do things in sports activities. Last year I played volleyball and I never had that much playing time. Never being able…

I grabbed my backpack and wearily headed to my same school, to my same locker, next to the same people. Sadly unlike Carnitas, this gets old. But this day, immediately changed. A boy with long hair and a FCB outfit walked to me cheerfully, almost like a skip. This was my friend Ajay, the social butterfly of the school.…

The cool fall air brought light goose bumps to my arms. Still a bit bothered by the cold, I took my long brown hair out of its usual ponytail and let it spread out across my back, warming my in the slightest. I rubbed my arms absentmindedly, looking around for Octavia. We always met here, on the metal bleachers, which rose above the green football field, waiting until the practice was over and Jake could drive us home. When I realized that she wasn’t anywhere near me, I turned my attention to the players on the field. The football team this year is supposed to be amazing, at least, from what I have been told and from what I have seen. Basically every student at Arrowsmith High School’s life revolved around football, or so it seemed. It…

The Hempfield Spartans 7th grade team would be ending their season 0-7 if we didn’t win today. As I was changing into my pads my friend mike walked in the room. I said “you ready for tonight”. “Heck yeah” replied Mike.…

It was a sunny afternoon in the spring when 9th grader Paulette's life was forever change. It started as an average day, for an average girl, in an average town, as though we all thought. As the school day was over at Immaculate Conception, Paulette Raney approaches her bus to Orange (a town in New Jersey). She takes her seat in the back, just like every day. While reading a book, she's interrupted and looks up with her beautiful hazel- green eyes to find a young man in front of her. His name was Spencer Salomon, a 9th grader, who asked her politely, "Is it okay if I sit next to you?" She said yes and moved her bags for him to sit. On the bus ride home that day they both talked, laughed and smiled with one another. As Paulette’s stop approached, she got up and Spencer said to her, “I hope I get to hang out with you sometime soon, you’re such a lovely girl.” It was what you called, love at first sight. From that day, they knew that nothing will ever be the same. It was the start of something new and beautiful.…

My greatest influences are my parents and my brother. My brother suffered from Guillain- Barre Syndrome when he was eight. He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. I learned that with dedication, determination and diligence we can achieve our dream in life…

There has been many cases in which I have helped an outsider feel welcome. One time in particular is when I played tag with this little boy at church since he was new and no one else played with him. Originally, I was outside eating candy and talking to my friends at church. I noticed that this little boy was standing all alone watching all the other little kids play without him. I thought that maybe he was upset so I went over to him and asked if he wanted the rest of my gummy worms. He seemed nervous at first, but eventually he started talking to me. I learned that he was five years old and he was visiting his grandparents for the weekend. His older brother was outside playing basketball with some of the other older boys at the church, and…

As I step off the yellow school bus, I looked up at the big, brown brick elementary school. Kids were everywhere. I was excited. The night before, I could hardly sleep. I kept getting up every five minute, afraid I might oversleep. I felt like the big man on campus, but in reality, I was the little man on campus. I was about six years old and so tiny among the older children. I was taken to the cafeteria, where all the kids were to find their teachers and walk to their homerooms as a class. I found my teacher. She was a middle-aged Caucasian woman with blonde hair. Her name was Ms. Bishop. She was nice. The bell rung and we walked in a single file line to our classroom for the next couple months.…
