Personal Narrative: The Perfect Vacation
My absolute perfect vacation would most definitely be Italy. I'd invite my two best friends; Faith and Natalie, to go on vacation with me. My mom would also come along so we don't do anything stupid, or get lost. We'd all fly to Italy in our private jet, sipping orange juice because hey I'm 18! Trying to cram in as much Italian as we can, so we speak the Native language. When we probably

Summer to me is the season of fun; the season where kids get to be outside play all day long because the day is illuminated by the sun almost until eight at night. I got to play all day and it was even better when my cousins came over, I especially enjoyed this season when I was little. I have four other cousins that are about my age so you can imagine how chaotic it was with six kids from ages six to ten years old being together. As all kids we looked for adventure with our imagination, we invented games, and our parents taught us games they played when they were younger. One game that especially stood out was a game called “hoyitos” or “little holes”.…

One of the most challenging things a person can experience is leaving everything you’ve ever known behind and starting completely over somewhere else. Eva does this in the Lost in Translation by moving from Poland all the way to Canada when she is just a teenager. When I was sixteen years old my family moved from Minnesota to Texas. This isn’t quite as drastic of a change as in Lost in Translation, but many of the things Eva experienced I can relate with even if I just crossed numerous state line borders. Eva says “My mother says I’m becoming “English.” This hurts me, because I know she means I’m becoming cold.” I’ve realized as I’ve lived in Texas for the last four years I’ve started to say stuff and do things I would have never done in Minnesota.…

I returned back from vacation this week and it was nice to see all the children’s smiling faces. The parent’s express how they missed me as well as their children. This makes me love my job even more. This week there was a two year old child who had a seizure at the center; this was scary for the children, staff, as well I. 911 had to be called out to the center. We all have had CPR and first aid training so we were comfortable with handling the case until the ambulance reached us. However, we were not so prepared when the child stopped breathing. This was a learning experience, but I do not want to do it again. I want all my children safe and happy. I had to ride with the child to the hospital till her mother was reached and notified what…

Imagine standing on a road in a warm humid place in the middle of nowhere. A place where the grass is dry, the fields are endless, and the smell of dirt stings the inside of your nose as the wind sweeps by. The roads are narrow and lonely. The only visitors that pass are the few people on bikes and the occasional rusty truck that hums as loud as a lawn mower as it carries sugar cane from a nearby farming village. As you look out into the fields, water buffalo can be seen in the distance and the periodical old woman appears carrying a long pole on her back with huge amounts of bug eaten vegetables in baskets on each end. You see a small dirt path leading off of the road into the field. The end of the path cannot be seen, but with no weeds or grass growing on the walkway it can be assumed that civilization lies ahead. Hot, sticky, bug bitten and hungry, you make your way down the path until finally you reach a small village.…

According to stress.about.com, “A good vacation can help us to reconnect with ourselves, operating as a vehicle for self-discovery and helping us get back to feeling our best.” Getting away is proven to relieve stress. From personal experience, I can vouch for this fact because going on vacation helps relieve my stress. I go on vacation and sit on the beach at least once a year. I prefer going to a tropical place such as Mexico. This year I will be going to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. I use my fives senses everywhere I go. I use them the most while laying in the beach.…

On a humid, winter day in Hawaii, Mike decided to hit the road in his Infiniti qx60 with his friend Patrick. Patrick knew Mike well, because they play lacrosse together. Patrick had just moved to Hawaii. Pat is sixteen and Mike is eighteen years old. They went to a brand new theme park called Flyin Hawaiian very early in the morning, and tried to beat a record of going on 42 roller coasters in one day! They went to Screamin Splash first because that ride looked the most interesting. The line was long, but they were prepared. They’d bought Lines-less cards. Other people also bought lineless cards so they were in line for two to three minutes. Mike bought cotton candy for the wait. They precisely watched the first row go up and drop into the water. Splash! “Please put all your valuables in a locker,” said the announcer. Mike was just stuffing sweetness to his mouth at the time.…

Life is a journey of the unknown. There have been many points in my life were I can say how did I get here, so with that being said let me begin where I think I really started identifying with the person who I am now and what lead my down that path. While there were many different life changing situations that happened in my childhood, the most important one that helped shaped who I am today was my mother and father’s decision to move to Virginia from New York. There were a couple different reasons to why, such as, one my dad was ill and another was we needed a place to live as New York was not a proper area to grow as a family. Now for a seventeen-year-old young man from Brooklyn, New York that spent his will childhood in the city and having to move Hampton, Virginia was a huge challenge. It was a new state, a completely different type of lifestyle, a new society. I became a city boy lost in a suburban country life.…

Like it was yesterday I remember my first vacation on a cruise. My Dad and I went on a three- day long cruise to The Bahamas. I had never been on a cruise, so it was a new experience for me. We needed to be in Tampa for our departure, so we drove the two hours from Orlando, Florida to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My Dad and I used this time to talk, make plans for the trip and think about our upcoming adventures on the cruise.…
