Personal Narrative: The Assassination Of Louisiana Governor Huey Long
We didn’t arrive at our destination until 5 o’clock the next afternoon, when the river deposited us on the nearby shore. It was now February 16th, and we had 2 days left in our journey. When we recovered from our river highway, we realized we were in the middle of a big city. We stood up and looked around to determine our location. We were in Baton Rouge, the capital of Louisiana. (Shook). I told Viviane that I wanted to spend the night here because we may not have another chance to get any sleep, so we found a cheap hotel we could stay at. It wasn’t too late yet, so we decided to go see something before we went to bed. A hotel worker suggested The Enchanted Mansion, a doll museum (Campbell). When we got to the museum, there weren’t very many …show more content…
I feared we would run out of time, so I was in a hurry to find our next activity. Viviane suggested the Louisiana State Capitol Building. I thought it might be boring, but she assured me it had a lot of interesting history. The shear size of the building amazed me. The middle of the building had a skyscraper that rose to 450 feet tall (West). We went in and toured the building, learning about the fascinating history. The assassination of Louisiana Governor Huey Long took place in this very building, in 1935 (Shook). We went out into the gardens to view his statue, after we had toured the inside. The statue was a full body depiction placed on top of a large stone pedestal (West). When we were close enough to see the statue’s details, I realized there was a strand of beads hung around his wrist. I reached out to grab them and they started to glow. Suddenly, the statue came to life. He didn’t speak as he jumped down from the pedestal and stood before us. He dropped the beads in my hand, and proceeded to lift both of us on to his shoulders. Then, he took of running at a lightning fast …show more content…
It had beautiful, old ironwork surrounding the verandah, and dark green paint on the doors (Campbell). We toured the house jumping at every random sound because we were afraid of ghosts. The décor of the home was exquisitely decorated in the time period of the house (Campbell). When we finished our self-guided tour we walked out to stand on the verandah and admire the view. It was dark outside and nobody was in the home so we decided to spend the night here. We found two beds and quickly fell asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night to a whistling sound. I sat up and looked around, it was 2:00 in the morning. Suddenly, a book fell off of a nearby shelf all by itself. I quickly got up and went to find Viviane. It appears she is having the same ghostly experiences that I had. We wanted to get out of this creepy house, so we ran to the verandah. When we got there we saw a strand of beads hanging on the railing. I snatched them up and they began to glow. All of the sudden, we were both picked up by two ghosts, that were both women. They hovered in the air for a minute then took off, carrying us through the skies. We came to what looked like another plantation, and they dropped us in a grass clearing, and disappeared. We were so tired; we lay down and fell asleep before we could explore our new

Right when I walk in, I headed straight up the stairs, I seem to hear a slight hum/noise. But all of the rooms look completely welcoming and beautiful. Her animals had not moved since I was last there, it was like they were stuck in the position they were in. As I walked downstairs, The Landlady was sitting up straight and perfect on her couch watching me head to toe as I looked around. She kept asking me if I wanted tea. That was one of the most unusual things that I encountered.…

The house looked uninhabited, as she drew near, but one could never tell what lurked inside. The windows were busted and glass was scattered everywhere, while the tattered drapes swayed in the breeze. Plants adorned the porch, ranging from moss to vines to ivy, and almost every wooden board on the porch was broken or cracked. The boards stuck up like little trees growing haphazardly in every direction. Amy climbed the steps cautiously placing every step softly so she did not fall and injure herself. The door was halfway off of it’s hinges and it groaned when she vigilantly pushed it open.…

I woke up in the middle of the night. A feeling of unknown came over me, and it took a moment to realize I was in my older sister’s room. I was not more than seven years old at the time, and I was laying in her bed, but she was not there. Her old full size bed was covered in a blue comforter with yellow daisies on it, and the room was painted yellow. The darkness seemed to cast a spell on the room, and it seemed as if I was looking through a dark filter. The yellow wasn’t the bright color I remembered, and I felt so small compared to everything else. The street…

At the top of the Power Tower, the musical roar of the fair dimmed, letting in the screams of the people ready to drop. The ride burst into life and dropped the unknowing people to the floor, screams turned into hunger for another drop, adrenaline, excitement and joy. Shoved into by a chubby girl with an overly big candyfloss I smiled, I just took in all the chatter, excitement and the vibe of happiness bouncing off the overly flashy lights coming from every corner of the fair. It was magical. “Mummy please”, I heard a boy begging to his mum for another go while bouncing up and down with joy. The fake smoke from the rides mixed with the real smoke from men’s cigarettes was collecting in the air like a thick fog on an autumn’s morning. My wired gaze caught the eye of a little girl inserting shiny silver coins into the slot machines with no care for the objective. The most intimidating ride was swaying over my head like a wasp ready to strike; it was luring me in I am sure of it! The concentration on the eyes of the people going for an iPad or other pricy prize was cheerless to watch, they were so absorbed in their fantasy of winning something many people get the courtesy of being ripped off for, it was despairing. The clouds, now a musty grey were closing in on the fair. The chatter, cheerfulness, and joy of people was drawing to a close, something had changed but I can’t say what. The dazzling lights, now shuddering like a cold summer afternoon. The rain was the tears of heaven just as if GOD was preparing us for something awful.…

The house is set back about 200 feet from the road, and as we saunter up the narrow dirt pathway, lined with neat rows of flamboyant orange gladiolas on each side, the tidy appearance of the small, unpainted frame house entices us to enter. Up the steps and onto the porch, we can't help but notice a high-backed rocker on one side and a bench worn smooth by age on the other. Both remind us of the many vesper hours spent here in the absence of modern-day entertainment.…

The time that this strange paranormal activity took place was always at 2:00am. In my dark room of terror I was woken up by, a little girl under my bed. I was way too big to have an imaginary friend, and I knew it was not my imagination. One night I was in a deep sleep when suddenly I feel cold hands on my legs and boom! I feel the pull. I yelled for my mother; she came rushing in my room turning on the lights. My skin had no color I had turned completely pail. I wasn’t able to speak for a whole hour; I knew then something evil was under that bed. With a pail skin, chapped lips, red eyes, and…

At night, we were walking on a path that led to that cemetery .The sky was full of thick clouds and it was slightly foggy. The leaves and the twigs were ominously quiet, the air was freezing and we were chilled to the bone. At last, I saw a giant rusty gate. We supposed that it belonged to the cemetery. When we enter I could appreciate that it had a spooky appearance that it made my hair straighten up to see such terrifying place. Inside, we saw many rows of gravestones with extremely enigmatic carvings on them. When we were passing by the tombstones, suddenly we heard a strange noise coming from of a tomb. I felt a strange sensation and I was about to faint. We ran as quickly as possible screaming desperately, going out the cemetery.…

Madame Tussauds is pretty close to my hotel, so I take that first. I walked over there and by the time I was listening to British music. I got lost two times on my way to Madame Tussauds, so I bought a map, then I found the right way. I arrived at half-past 10 and I was thinking ‘Oh my God, here is so many dolls!’ I watched Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson, Robert Pattinson and many more, and then I saw him, William Shakespeare. I walked over to him and stood by him for quite a while, and then I continued to walk. At 12pm I started walking over towards Stratford-upon-Avon. I couldn’t believe it! I was here, me, the curious girl who wanted to discover the world was standing outside Shakespeare’s house! I stood there for a long time, and then suddenly an old man came to me and started talking to me.…
