Everyone has their own community or organization for which they belong to. Within that community you tend to find who you are and what you are about. For me I found my identity in being an outdoors man. Being an outdoors man at my young age seems to be rare at this day, but that doesn’t prevent me from doing something I love and appreciate. Growing up with my family full of avid outdoors men helped influence me and only made my identity stronger.…

Everyone has peaceful and strange events that occurred in their lifetime. There are several chances that one expects something pleasant to happen and it comes true. On the other side, an occasion doesn’t appear when somebody expects it. I can explain this with my personal account of Hurricane Sandy, an event that occurred on October 29, 2012 and ended on November 2, 2012. This affected the northeast portion of the United States. As a result of this event, I had lost power, had a tough time doing tasks, and took my education away. On the other hand, I was thankful that the disaster ended a few days later.…

On March 5, 2016, the rain hit hard in Sacramento causing it to be a very wet day, which ultimately led to smart individuals to stay inside. For me I wanted to see how different the wildlife atmosphere would be when it’s raining compared to when it’s not. I also thought this was a great opportunity, because it was not just raining it was pouring. It was about 2pm when I decided to make my walk along the American River. One thing that stood out compared to the few other times I’ve had at the river was that it looked like the water level within the American River was rising. After witnessing this it brought to mind how happy river rafters would be to be able to continue to experience what they love. Overall, this experience in the rain with the wildlife really opened me up to the reality of it all and what living animals have to endure when they get a little too much rain.…

I saw how the big smile that her face displayed would be dispelled when I asked: How have you been these last three years? I immediately noticed that there was something bad happening in her life. She told me that she was no longer together with the boy who used to be her boyfriend in high school named Julio, who was also our classmate. Two summers ago I was on a softball team called Cyclones. I was playing right field and I got a pop up to me. So, I went after the ball and ran too far ahead of it. The ball dropped and I was going to have to run after it. All of a sudden, I tripped as I was going after the ball. Luckily, there was someone backing me up to get the ball and throw it in. But instead of having that girl out, we gave her a triple. We were already getting crushed so a lot of people thought it was really funny, including me. But there was one girl that we could tell was really upset. So, by me missing that ball it put someone on the team down. Then she did not play her best for the rest of the game.…
