Personal Narrative: Police Brutality
In the 2nd grade, I was living with my grandparents for the year as my current house was being built. Never had I been home alone either. But then, one day, I was instructed not to take the bus home from school, as my father had told me to stay at school. As my day went on, I had forgotten this detail. Therefore, when I got home there was nobody at the house. Crying, I started looking through the windows to see if maybe someone was inside, as I had no way inside. But then, when all hope had vanished. A cop drove very slowly past. My eyes widened and my heart started racing, as I frantically waved down the cop and explained my situation through tears. The cop was very kind and sympathetic. She gave me a hug as I cooled down. She took me to the police station as we waited for my parents. Her fellow co-workers gave me a tour around the police station. By that time, I had almost forgotten that I didn't even have my parents with me, when my grandma showed up to retrieve me. The second suggestion pops up as “articles of police misconduct”, and the third comes up as “articles of police corruption”. This supports what I'm saying when I talk about how people do not trust the police force. The media projects the police in a terrible way. However, for every time we see a video or article of police brutality. There are a hundred police officers doing wonders, doing their jobs, keeping people safe, and helping people who need it. If we type in the search bar “articles of police doing good” we will find hundreds of examples of articles like “Cop Fixes Boy’s Bike, Takes ‘Serve And Protect’ To Whole New Level” and “Instead Of Charging Him For Shoplifting, Officer Helps Single Dad Feed His Baby”.
