It all started out at the reefs of the cold winter season in the Pacific Ocean. Against all odds there was Iro the jellyfish leader realized upon his jellyfish species that they were running out of food on their land. Benko and Seno the twins, the leaders of the sea turtles ruled the next land after them and made an agreement between Iro since long time ago during the massacre of the jellyfish and turtles for land. When fishing for largemouth bass it is important that you study the water. it doesn't even hurt to ask others if u know any that have fished there. I have fished many of ponds before where I have heard a lot of great things about a pond and didn't catch a thing. That is the game of fishing some people enjoy it ad some people would rather not “waste their time” . in the sport of bass fishing you have to have patience. There could be hours that u don't catch a thing but the only thing u can do is keep fishing. Waiting to catch a fish can be extremely boring at times but what i have heard from others is that it is just best if u think about the outcome of waiting to catch a fish. And what i like to do is think about catching my PB (personal best).…

It was a ghastly type of day in northern Minnesota, specifically Seagull Creek Fishing Camp. No phone service to be found, television to be watched or people to interact with. Yes, there was the old couple that lived down the bumpy and torn apart road but besides that you would have drive almost three hours to see any civilization. The camp was run and maintained by a guy named Mike Berg. He lived in the town back 131 miles, Grand Marais. He owns three of the four cabins located on the camp, while the other is cabin set as a museum of the camp. It holds some past of the camp and why it was so successful in the past years. After waking up that with the sun just blaring on my face, my hands lifted up to my face to wipe off any eye…

In the wee hours of the morning my life is the embodiment of a living, breathing dichotomy. Awakening with a wry little smile on my face, I knew I had dreamed of the river, big brown trout, and sweet 3wt bamboo rods. My body screams – “Where’s the coffee”, while my brain questions the sanity of getting up this early on a Saturday. Oblivious to the cacophony, the hairs on the back of my neck tingle. Betraying logic, they forewarn that this pre-dawn moment was the premonition of a great day ahead.…

The morning I met Kevin Vandam was kinda odd. We were out fishing and we weren't catching anything it was kinda disappointing so my brother, my father and I decided to head into shore. We decided to just take a few castes along the way. So we started to head in. When we got to shore, we tied the boat off to the dock, got out, put the boat on the trailer and pulled up to our spot. There was an intrusion to our parking lot so we stopped and were going to ask if he knew how to fish Lake Charlevoix. So when he finally stopped his dodge sponsored truck pulling a million dollar boat my brother…

Fishing bait is a generic term for any type of substance or material which is used to attract fish to a fishing hook or line. Traditionally, before fishing became a modern sport, anglers would use anything they could get their hands on for example; worms, flies, small bait fish, night crawlers and insects. As the times have changed and some people’s opinions of fishing with live bait have changed, so has the variety of bait that has become available.…

One of the professions I have a lot of interest in would be marine biology. I took the high school course on it last year and I had a lot of fun in the class. I have a deep interest in the ocean and marine life, which was fostered when my family and I moved to the Pacific Coast. This interest grew further after I went on a backstage tour to the aquarium at the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. Due to this continuous exposure to the ocean and the creatures that live there, I am focusing my education around my interest in marine life. It's for this reason that I’m majoring in Marine Biology with a minor in Chemistry. With this education, my goal is to become an Aquarist, and build my way up to becoming an ocean or aquarium diver. As a diver, I want to have the opportunity to study coral reefs, and create and implement conservation plans. In addition, I want to study sea turtles and ways to conserve their declining…

After an analysis of the sport of fishing, I have learned a lot about its discourse community and how people are involved in the sport today, and how the sport has effected the world today. My research started with the interpretation of several books related to the discourse community, which brought the attention of new information about professional fishing to the forefront of my research of the everyday life of the discourse community members. The sport of fishing has a wide variety of the type of members that represent the community, such as new members, or members that are not as serious as a professional fisherman, but anyone can join the discourse as an up and coming member at anytime, especially little kids. To become apart of this discourse all you really need to do is have the desire to go fishing, which a lot of people use as a relaxation tool for their life.…
