Personal Narrative: My Two Out Of Body Experiences
Have you ever seen your entire body, but not through a mirror? I have. My two out of body experiences comes from two of my earliest memories. I was two years old at the time of the first one. Twas the night before my third birthday and I was having trouble sleeping. So I went out to my living room where my mom was watching T.V.. “Mom,” I said. “I’m having trouble sleeping.” Then my mom picked me up and rocked me to sleep. Her robe is soft and warm. It takes about 10 minutes for me to fall asleep. Then my dad comes over to pick me up out of my mom’s arms and I fall asleep in my dad’s arms. Next thing I know I see my dad walking down the hall to my room with me in his arms. From the way I see it, I’m dying.
The next day I’m too scared to tell

“Napping – she got home a few hours ago.” I followed him into his bedroom and looked to my mom’s side of the bed, the one next to a window. It must have been late because lamp lights from the parking lot streamed through the cracked blinds. Where mom’s sleeping form should have been, the covers were turned up and the pillows were missing. “Maybe she went to spend time with a friend?” I suggested at my dad’s curious gaze. A niggling…

I woke up the next morning from our hotel door opening. My family had came back from eating breakfast. I had food crumbs all over my old self. My stomach rumbled. I was so hungry. My mom noticed and grabbed some dog food from our closet. She put it in the bowl and sadly I snarfed it down. After I eating and drinking some water, I went out onto the patio with the book,“My Dog and Me”, in my mouth. I don’t remember whom the author was but I thought it was an excellent read. I was reading how they were driving their car when my mom came onto the patio and saw me reading and took the book out of my mouth and…

It sounds very boring to live my life in the same way every single day. Wake up. Go to work. Come home. Go to bed. The idea of living in someone else’s body every single day sounds adventurous and exciting to me because I would never know whose body I will be in. Even before reading this book, I always wondered what it would be like to be someone else, to experience what s/he’s experiencing, and to feel her/his emotions. The fact that I will be in different places, meeting different people, experiencing different cultures, and living a life that I might never have thought of makes me want to be the main character of the book.…

There’s an overwhelming sense of fear. It is as if there were eyes watching me. I begin to get out of the bed. I’m going to open the closet but I don’t want to. I know something bad is going to happen. But I open the door and there’s nothing, but it’s too dark to actually see anything. I lean further into the closet. It’s colder in the closet than in the room. I feel a hand pull my hand off the knob and drag me further in. I fall and I keep falling. I don’t stop falling till I wake up, and it gets colder as I fall. I feel my blood freeze in my veins. It's like the dream’s…

As they started to clean up dinner I scampered to wash my hands upstairs. As I exited the bathroom I stood at the top of the stairs and looked down at my parents and my heart swelled with warmth and love. Then my body decided to betray me and I projected chewed-up-vile- forest green vomit all over the landing and the top stairs. My throat felt raw from puking and then one of those hot lumps formed at the base of my throat as my face scrunched up and hot uncontrollable tears flooded my face and I just stood there knowing that my parents could never love me and I would have to spend another 2 years in the foster…
