Personal Narrative: My Interview With A Pharmacy Student
To achieve a basic idea of how much work goes into being a pharmacy student, I chose to interview Kari Gibson; who had already attended pharmacy school. Although, Ms. Gibson did not finish pharmacy school, she attended two years at Oklahoma University where she was enrolled in the schools Pharmacy program. According to Ms. Gibson, she had decided to discontinue her pharmacy education since her interest changed to education. The reason why I interviewed her is because she has been in college for the past fifteen years, and is now a few years away from finishing her PhD in Administration Education. When I asked her to describe herself in one sentence she said, “I’m very outgoing and eager to learn new things”.
Prior to attending pharmacy school, Ms. Gibson had worked in the pharmaceutical field for sixteen years. She raised two young children and was a single mom. When I asked her what inspired her to even work in the vast world of pharmaceutics her response was this, “Clifford Barnett, my grandpa, had a stroke because of medications that …show more content…
Ms. Gibson said that her GPA was a 3.5 in high school, and that her GPA in college is currently at a 3.9. Ultimately she sounded very proud of the fact that she was an exceptional student. Her favorite class in pharmacy school was biochemistry; she said “I loved this class because it was all about the systems of the human body and how each part of the human body responded with the other”. Ms. Gibson’s least favorite subject through pharmacy school was Kinetics. She was an exceptional student but however she said “I didn’t enjoy the calculus and geometry that was relative to completing that class”. We then ended this conversation with the question of, did you have any time to do anything else in pharmacy school. Ms. Gibson said that unfortunately she didn’t have any time to do anything but “study, study and
