Personal Narrative: My Interest In Social Work
I am became interested in social work because as a child my mother was a single parent taking caring of my sister and I. Many times it was my responsibility to complete the chores that were assigned by my mother because I was the oldest; which I thought was unfair to be forced to help my mother clean around the house. As I grew wiser, I realized that completing the chores around the house helped me learn how to become helpful, and tidy. When my chores were completed my mom would tell me “I really appreciate you helping me today.” Her gratification made me feel like I had done a good deed by helping her. Personally, I felt like I had impacted my mom life by being a single parent because I could tell she was not as stressed. I am to relate this
