Personal Narrative: My First High School Football
As I was staring up into the sky, screaming in pain and I’m holding my knee close to my chest, all I could think about was not about my knee, but my family, friends, and coaches.
I remembered before the game that my teammates and I were on one knee holding hands in the locker room, saying the “Our Father” with confidence. As we were saying the prayer, I came to think that this will be my last first high school football game ever, I’ve worked so hard to get to this point. My family and friends and coaches pushed me so hard to get to the level I’m at, and I was finally here. The biggest game of my life was right now, against the toughest team out there. I was going to give a name to myself.
But the one thing I didn’t think about, the one thing

As soon as I chose to beat this and that I’ll get through it just fine, that’s when everything changed. I realized that everything happens for a reason, and to simply never question God’s plan because he will always give you what he thinks is best, and he will never take something away from you without replacing it with something better. Ever since I played football, especially in high school, my grades had just been average. I really worked hard to get the grades I knew I could get but I just didn’t have the time to, I used to put no effort towards them. But my senior year, without having football in my life, my grades increased rapidly. I had time and motivation to study for my SAT’s, and my results came back and I couldn’t have been more proud of myself. I got the news that I was going to Slippery Rock University and I was so relieved because I was always a little scared and anxious about getting into a college I wanted to go to with my grades. My relationship with my parents and siblings were back on track, and really I was just finally happy again. Everything turned out to be great, and I’ve learned a lot from what happened to me. I learned that positive thoughts give you positive outcomes, and all negativity does is brings you

Quite possibly the most significant time of my life was during my senior year as part of the Edison High School football team. The story of our 2006 season is a reflection of my life and testimony to my beliefs and values. Underdogs from day one, we represented not only our school, but also our community and families. Early expectations of the 2006 Eagles were low and the surrounding community was under the belief that Edison would be lucky to go 6-4 with the inexperienced players and the loss of such a talented senior class. Suddenly, I was starting as the outside linebacker/defensive end for the first time in my career along with 18 brand new starters. Unexpectedly, a green group of replacements were 5-0, half-way through our season. After…

I play quarter back for Pensacola Catholic High. To me football is one of the biggest adrenaline rushes you can get. The game is fast and I like that. When I play football I feel unstoppable and I love it. When you play quarterback the game is in your hands and it is up to you to lead your team to victory. You have to make sure your team is focused and prepared. You have to be a good leader to play quarterback. If your team starts loosing you can’t just act sad and give up. You have to do the right thing and give your team a pep talk and tell them to step up their game like a good leader would do.…

We were just going through football practice and it just was the same as every other day. We would practice hard and go through all of the conditioning. We just recently played our first football game against Lovel. That consisted of two quarters, which the Freshman played the first two quarters and the Varsity played the second two quarters. At the end of the game, it was 45 to 17, it was not close at all. That was a good way to start off the Freshman year. We were going to play the Cody Broncs in a couple of weeks, but things changed very fast. One of my favorite quotes is “Sometimes it’s the Journey that teaches you about your destination.” (Drake). That Sunday morning after playing Lovel everything in my world was flipped upside down.…

I would go to the football field and go into the box announcers seat with a crossbow, bottle of water, protein bar, boards and a walkie talkie to respond to the other look outs. I would hide out in the box and since zombies are slow it would take them quite a long time to get to but when they do my look outs will take them out but if some pass by or I lose a person I can shoot them from my perfect view in the box from the field they are on and once all of them have been taken out I will call my crew together announce over the speaker we are safe and then call in on my walkie talkie the helicopter get my crew and head to the white house for our medals of honor for defeating our zombie…

When I stood at the bottom I did not think I could make it. half way up, I knew that I could not make it. Now, standing at the top, I look behind me at the amazing challenge that I have just conquered. Not only is the hill at Eau Claire an infamous feat that every student must traverse, but it is also a metaphor for every hardship that has entered into my life. One hardship I have faced, was my sports injuries during high school. My junior year track season started off being the best experience i’ve had. Unfortunately, this time was cut short. I ripped a ligament in my leg ending my entire spring season. I was angry at the world asking, “why me”. However, I knew I still had a team depending on me. Day in, and day out, I would show up to practice…

Eighth grade year, gym class, flag football. I remember this day like it was yesterday. I had a fuming hatred for the gym teachers and their actions toward these pre-pubescent kids who take everything a little too personally, but with these rude teachers each and every reaction from each and every kid was appropriate. The only way I could describe these teachers is 40 year olds who find joy in making 13 year olds miserable. So, it all began when the flag football unit started. I wasn’t afraid of the evil humans we called gym teachers; I spoke my mind. Football was usually the last unit every year and every year the girls had to relearn how to play football, while the boys got to go play outside right away without an ounce of review. Because I am me, this wasn’t going to fly.…

“Swish” as the ball goes through the net. The crowd went wild in the stands as Adam shot the ball. Adam is a tall and brown curly haired boy, with wide hands up to eight inches long. Coach Smith was off his seat and sweating a lot. Coach Smith is a big, bald, and a tall man. The team was down by two, they had the ball. Seven seconds left, the clock was ticking. Two seconds left Randy, had shot the ball at the three point line. Randy is a hairy chimpanzee that loves to play basketball. There was no time left on the clock. When suddenly, the gymnasium was left in complete darkness, just before if everybody saw if the shot was good or not. When the lights turned backed on Randy was gone. Everybody was looking for him. All that was left was Randy’s hair…

It all started at ninth street with some friends of mine John and I started recruiting some people to come play football with us. I honestly didn’t know I had a pretty decent arm. I originally was going to start practicing to play wide receiver instead of quarterback. At the time Odell Beckham Jr. ( wide receiver for the New York Giants ) was extremely explosive and dynamic on offense. Seeing him blow up on offense made me want to try out for wide receiver. But somehow John convinced me to play quarterback.…

By being told to quit something just because I’m not good at it. Back in my 7th grade year when I played football, I was pretty atrocious at everything basically. Trying to run routes against corners, catching, and trying to stay at 110%. I used to play Wide Receiver but they made me change positions because I didn’t try hard enough. They moved me to o-line and I was probably one of the worst players on the team. I only started one game my middle school life as a guard and all I really did was get embarrassed. Missing blocks, not pulling to get the DE, and forgetting the snap count. I didn't play football my 8th grade and my freshman year because my parents said that allergy season was gonna be awful. I was so close to not playing this year,…

The day started off well. Waking up at my usual time I rolled out of bed and got ready for the day. I had a long trip ahead of me but I didn’t want that to bring down my spirits. I was headed for Rapid City, South Dakota for a matchup against the number two football team in the state, the St. Thomas More Cavaliers. The Cavaliers had an impressive regular season, going undefeated and showing true blue pass offense, passing for more than 1500 yards in the regular season. We as Orioles were the underdogs as the seven seed. We…
