My curiosity followed me all the way to high school. As soon as I entered high school, I could not help but remember thinking “Astronomy was the first class I was going to take.” that was not the case. My school did not even offer Spanish let alone Astronomy. I was so angry that they did not offer astronomy that I just stop caring about school altogether. My attitude toward school got so bad that I failed ninth grade math. My academic advisor informed me that I had to pass math if I ever want to become an astronomer. She told me “Astronomers deals with a lot of math” at that moment I knew that I had to make math a priority.

Cornell is more than its name and credibility, which is why it is appealing to me; it is the reason I would like to attend there. Cornell offers not only a significant and rigorous education but an incredible college experience. With its diverse group of students, I can remove myself from my comfort zone and learn in ways I never have before. I would be able to make the most of my college experience because Cornell focuses on academics; while encouraging their student to build friendships and family. Cornell focuses on the things that are important to
