I am a 2 format, I am a two format because I know I have to learn from the expert. I hate huge groups, but I will allow 1 or 2 people work with me. I like knowing when things are done, I know when things are done. this helps me turn my work in on time. I see myself as a good student. Why? I love to learn new things I know I can do it also I believe in myself all the time no matter what. But I also think I can improve on some things.
My Everest goals are part of my improving in school and my life. we’ll do handstands and cartwheels and round offs. these things help me and jade connect because she helps me and I help her. I love doing this stuff because I know I can do a lot and figure out how to do something with the help of myself and maybe someone else. About once a week me and my family go on a bike ride that's about 13 miles long. Its in boulder and we ride from Safeway to the farmers market and back on the boulder creek path. This helps me with my exercise and does fit so I'm not at home watching tv rotting my brain. Riding bikes can sometimes be hard for me, but I work through it and it becomes easier the more I do it. I know that my body needs the exercise for me to continue in life and not be lazy. I have always loved sports no matter what they are although some may not be Favorited as much. I enjoy going to the Rockies and broncos games with my friends and family. I have tried many sport that are different than the other. Some sports didn't even have anything in common, but I liked trying them all. The reason why is because even though I didn't love love them all I still enjoyed trying them. Soft ball was difficult for me at the beginning and at the end, but even though it may have been someone tough I know that I could do it. Now we didn't win any games, but we tried as hard as we could have for a team of brand new softball players playing in the majors. I know I could have tried harder, but I didn't. In conclusion to these paragraphs I am a learner in so many ways, big and small. I’m going to be working my best on accomplishing my goals and making sure that I stay a good

It all started when a few days before summer break began last year when I overheard my step-dad and uncle talking about a hiking trip in Colorado that we were going to take sometime in the month of early July. My personal goals were to avoid rescue & frostbite, and reaching the summit. I was successful at avoiding frostbite but due to our failed attempt at the oxygen challenge, the distribution of the oxygen canisters was wrong and I ended up getting less oxygen than required. So I ended up being rescued and failed to make it to the summit. Even though I had failed at my personal goals, I had always wanted the team’s success more than achieving my personal goals.…

My feet ached as I passed through the automatic screen door to the snow filled Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport parking lot. The cool, crisp air stung my face, but my smile remained. Seven slow years have passed since I visited Crested Butte, Colorado, and I have been craving to return the moment I left. The towering mountains, blissful blue sky, and blinding white snow from the piercing sun makes Colorado a place like no other. I stood waiting on the icy concrete for my dad to pull around Baby Blue, a 1996 Chevrolet Astro van my family had nicknamed. My family visited Colorado in 2010, because my mom’s boss owns a timeshare condo, which included Baby Blue. He offered us a vacation to Crested Butte where we could have a free place to…

Weather destruction hits hard some places more then others around the world. In Alpena where I live we rarely have any kind of major weather damage. On June 14, a group of 44 members from Grace Lutheran Church, as well as other churches in Alpena, drove 20 hours to Mayflower, Arkansas where a level 5 tornado had hit. I was one of these, along with my mom and one of my best friends Maddy. For six months we had prepared and fundraised. I did not want to go on this trip, but what I was going to see was much more than what I had imagined--i came back more grateful for the life I have and more aware of the problems that other people deal with.…

I came from a family of really athletic people. My Mom and sister Kaitlyn both played softball from a young age and had many great accomplishments. My sister Kassidy played soccer from a young age as well. I have a lot to live up to. I started playing soccer when I four and I played for one year until I was no longer interested in it anymore. I started softball when I was five, and it wasn’t my favorite. I then retreated back to soccer for a few years. When I was in second grade, I cut my ankle on the bowl that my dog broke when I was trying to get cereal because I was hungry. After that I really didn’t want to play soccer anymore, so I decided to retire my soccer cleats forever. After this, I tried various different ranging from swim team to softball, and as you can imagine, softball stuck. When it did though, it came with my hot-headed personality showing. There was no way around it. I was also very independent, which could be a good thing in some cases, but as I got older I was required to do more group work. I just didn’t know how to.…

Yesterday me and my Dad went on an 11ish mile hike on the Appalachian Trail. This hike was probably one of the coolest hikes I've been on. It went from one beautiful landscape to another. As I was laying in bed that night with my muscles aching from the extra 1.5 miles we didn't plan on, I realized I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my Dad. He introduced me to my love of the outdoors and my passion to hike the entire AT. I hope one day ,Dad, we can stand on Mount Katahdin together and look back at the 2190 miles behind…

The American dream is an expression often used to describe freedom, Opportunity, and the ability to work hard and become somebody. My Great Grandfather chased after the American dream while fleeing from his homeland of Greece to come here to America to build a life for himself. Everest is my American dream. By going to Everest I get a chance to make something of myself and I am given the gift of following my passion. I have known this is what I have wanted to do since I was fourteen years old when my mother was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and subsequently started developing agonizing migraines. I have always been the type of man that likes to help people but I never realized what I wanted to do to help, and that purpose was to help people…

Now it may seem like I only did gymnastics for friends, but that’s not true. I have been in gymnastics since I was 3 years old. It has taught me so much more than just friendship. It has taught me self- discipline, courage, strength (physically, and mentally), and now that I’m older, leadership. In life I consider those very important traits to have. I can take what I’ve learned in gymnastics and apply it to everyday life. We would have to set goals for gymnastics on certain skills we wanted to get by a certain time. I have used that to set goals for the future and where I want to be in 5 – 10 years. Not only did I set those goals, but I know what I have to do to achieve those goals. And having self –discipline helps me keep myself on track to make sure I get things done, not just with goals in life, but also with everyday things. For example, juggling school work and gymnastics. I have to keep myself on track to make sure I understand the material to keep my grades up. So gymnastics has really taught me a lot, not only throughout my life, but these last two years especially. It has helped me over come things I didn’t think I could handle by myself. I…
