Personal Narrative: My Dragon Boat Career
One of the most significant challenges I have faced was when I injured my knee during a critical time of my dragon boat career. However, I powered through paddling through the salty waters of Marine Stadium at the annual Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival with a knee brace, high adrenaline , grunts, and shouts; it was the last time I ever paddled after placing 4th in A division with my precious members. Afterward, I knew my knee would only get worse if I kept on paddling, so I was extremely dejected in having to stop doing a sport that I enjoyed. Even though I was saddened to stop paddling for my health and future, I continued on with the dragon boat team by being a manager, secretary, and a volunteer organizer.
