Personal Narrative: My Diary Of Monticello
Journal
Day 1- I searched Monticello on the internet to see how it looked. I also started thinking of ways of how I was going to make a model of this.
Day 2- I looked up videos on “Youtube” to try to get ideas on how to make the model and what material to use to make it. I finally decided to make it out of foam board because it was an easy and sturdy material to make my model out of.
Day 3- My mom took me to Hobby Lobby to go buy some foam board, some fake grass, and some popsicle sticks. When I got home I printed out a blueprint of Monticello and decided I would multiply each “wall” by three so it would be easier to cut pieces of foam board.
Day 4- I cut out the outside walls of foam board using an X-ACTO knife. I also started painting the foam board pieces in a brick pattern and used red water color paint to color the “bricks” redish. For the green house, I …show more content…
Some of them did not go together good so I had to make some ajustments like making a piece bigger or smaller. Once I had done that, I glued all the pieces together.
Day 6- I traced the top of my model (with the help of my mom), and used that as a template to cut out the roof for my model. After that, I glued the roof on to the top of my model. My mom took me to Walmart to go buy a foam ball and some glue. When I got home, I cut the foam ball in half and glued it on the top of my roof. I also out some pieces to act as slanted roofs and glued those on to my roof. After that I cut out some triangle shaped pieces to go in front of the slanted roofs.
Day 7- I cut out some rectangular shaped pieces to act as the porches. After that, I drew on a stone/brick pattern on to them and colored them with grey water color paint. I then glued those pieces on to my board. I also made some pillars by cutting thin pieces of foam board and then glued those on to the
