When I turned 8, my imaginations derailed me. On this day, I instantly, assume everything became possible as a young kid. All I dream about is being a muscle bound superhero, and saving people from distress. As I wander around the block, I practiced action moves until the street lights kindle up. My family claimed me as was crazy. They always seen me turning flips through the house. Every gathering, whether it took place outside or inside, I will find a way to be seen. Despite being athletically inclined, in Coyle’s words, she ‘pretty much stunk” (Coyle 3). Eventually, after abundant misses, Zoe starts to hit the ball, starting with foul balls and ending with a solid hit. This begs the question, what defines talent? Is it innate or learned? In a map of famous athletes’ locations, organized by sport, there are general scatterings of players in some places with more dense congregations in others. This implies that talent is greatly affected by culture, that places where a sport is considerably popular or imbedded in society will have a greater number of talented players.…

Thinking back over my life, I remember what I wanted to be when I “grew up”. I didn’t want to be a typical nurse, astronaut, or singer. I wanted to be the Pink Power Ranger. Why I wanted to be a Pink Ranger was quite simple to a second grader. I wanted to save the world, make a difference, and wear a cute pink uniform. Some were supportive in my quest to become the superhero. Others tried to explain to me that the Pink Power Ranger didn’t really exist. I vowed to show them that I would one day be the Pink Ranger. Looking back, maybe I really was right? Maybe I will transform as my very own version of the Pink Power Ranger?…

My goal is to become either a physical therapist or an athletic trainer and help out many athletes who struggle to get back to their normal body. I had two injuries during two consecutive high school golf seasons: a muscle strain in the back and a collarbone fracture. After a week of physical therapy after my surgery on my right collarbone, I started to be able to carry my backpack with one shoulder and write with my right hand. Two month after physical therapy, I was able to hit my driver. Then I realized something quite surprising; as I started to practice, my driver started to go further and further. My coaches had the same reaction as they both asked me if the story of the collarbone incident was actually true.…

Not only is this a part of my life but it has taken control of my life. As a child at the age of eight, I had not experienced many things nor had I the knowledge to know of all the great opportunities life has to offer. Things come at you when they’re not expected; that’s life. Actions that you may do in the present could affect you in the future. Noises, shouts and grunts could be overheard from a distance and my curiosity grew as they increased intriguing me to peek into the door of the burgundy coated building. Little did I expect that what I was about to encounter on the opposite side of this door would hold a great amount of meaning to me in the near future. I opened the door, my eyes were immediately drawn to the center of the gymnasium as people from the audience that came to speculate screamed and shouted. There was people seated on both sides of the gymnasium, from left to right people were exclaiming their emotions as they intensely watched the center of the gym. In the center there was a mat in which two young men were fighting aggressively, trying to bring one another down, grunting and panting. This is wrestling and it is not a game, it is war. This is my realm and my escape from the harsh reality on the outside of this gym and this is where I am destined to be for the rest of my life.…

“You can quit when you are finished.” My dad has been saying this my entire life. Everytime he said that I took it to heart because, it is a powerful saying if you really and truly follow it. I know that nowadays, people tend to fall in the deep pit of temptation, but I am hoping that we all strive to change and be a superhero. It is never too late for a good change. I want you to remember that we all have the potential to be a superhero if we just chose what is right and continue to fight for what we think is right. I want to end this with a simple quote from Robert Clancy “We all have the capacity to be a superhero. In order to become one, you just have to find your unique power or ability and exploit it for the greater good. The cape and mask are optional accessories, but a kind heart is…

My life has a few messes that I feel that I need to sort out. I realized these when I was early into my school experience, when I was a younger child, but came into focus when I was about in freshman year of high school, and I would ignore it from time to time. These problems that kept persisting were my college choice, actually applying to the college, and my personal health and fitness. Back when I was younger, my health never really bothered me. I was who I was. I didn't care about being big, I just cared about being a joyful kid. It started catching up to me around the time my seventh year of school started, and got more worrisome as the years went on. I tried to do something about it, like running on the treadmill, tried learning a martial…
