Personal Narrative: Key Club
I lived behind closed doors up until my freshman year, that was when Key Club opened the doors for me.
I hope that this doesn’t come out too cheesy, but I am sharing my utmost candid reason of why I am in Key Club -- and it’s not about the volunteer hours. During my first year in Key Club, I loved every single event I went to, even if it was pouring down rain. I was surrounded by passionate Key Clubbers, and I eventually became one of them. The atmosphere in Key Club is so serene, yet energetic. I thrive to do help others and Key Club helps me do just that. There’s simply nothing negative to note about this club because all the positives overcome the bad.
On another less tacky note, my strengths and weaknesses as a leader are scarce because I haven’t had huge leadership roles before. From my leadership experiences in middle school, group projects and as Executive Assistant, I can say that my strengths are: time …show more content…
I feel that communication and organization are a given goal since they are key to success in planning and running a club. I think these two can easily be achieved by strengthening friendship bonds and getting to know each other. Lastly, being active can mean two things: putting plans into action and attending the events. It is easy to plan and brainstorm of good ideas. The hard part is to gather all the necessities to make it happen. I plan to do this by setting deadlines for each event planning. For example, allowing three days to call other organizations to ask for volunteering opportunities and one day to gather supplies. Getting fellow board members to attend events is more difficult if they are amidst a busy time in their lives. I hope to schedule events that work for board members along with most club members. But, I know that I will be able to attend most events because my senior class schedule is not as excruciating as my junior year so I have more time on my
