Personal Narrative: If I Had To Get Rid Of Chalkboards
If you could get rid of three things in the world, what would it be? In a heartbeat, I would get rid of chalkboards, cigarettes, and body hair. All three are unnecessary, gross, and annoying. They just need to go! Chalkboards annoy the heck out of me. The sound it makes when you right on it or scratch your nails, I can't stand it! Teachers taking notes on a chalkboard are the worst because they usually end up taking up the whole board and you have to listen to that sound every single, little mark or letter. When I'm sitting in a classroom with a chalkboard, I just think why are you even in here? Someone please replace this with a white board, please. What could be worse than a classroom wall, with a big chalkboard on it? That's right, cigarettes. Cigarettes are the nastiest thing ever. Nothing annoys me more than a person by me smoking a cigarette. The smell it gives off is disgusting. When it gets on your clothes, I probably will wash it 1,000 times. What it does to your body is even worse. The way it destroys your lungs and takes years off your life is horrible. I went to the body exhibit when it was at the science center, and I saw two pairs of lungs. One was healthy and the other was completely black from smoking. From seeing that, I know that I will never smoke. If …show more content…
Leg hair, armpit hair, and everything else (other than eyebrows and head hair) really, really nasty. Why should girls waste their time shaving their legs and armpits when it could just not grow there. Everyone loves the feeling after you shaved your legs but when they are prickly, you just skip your homework and go straight to taking a shower. Plus, you are also in there for 5 hours just shaving one leg. To make it even worse, the way it looks. It bothers me when you are sitting and you either look at your legs or feel them, and all you see is little gross hairs sticking out of your legs. Body hair should not

Smoking should be illegal. Primarily the smoker’s lungs are permanently damaged. Also second hand smoke is by far the worst type of inhalation of smoke. Many say that smoking is a freedom. But should the government allow people to kill each other in order to be “free”. Our health should not be in danger if we want to be free. Also many teenagers who try cigarettes have a higher rate of violent offenses and, are more likely to be addicted to this horrendous drug. Therefore cigarettes should be prohibited from production.…

Smoking, don’t you just hate it! Don't get me started on smokers too! What is the point in spending hundreds or even thousands of pounds a year on a box of pointless cigarettes? Smokers may as well throw all the money they own down the drain! A better more cleaver idea would be to save the money and buy something more useful and maybe go on a well-deserved holiday!. You’ll always seem to find that one selfish, lowlife of a person who constantly throws their money toward tobacco, cigarettes or even weed and couldn't care less about their own family or friends. And if you smoke around young children not only does it give them a negative influence, but it also puts them at the risk of health problems like cancer, which will most likely kill you or your child.…

If asked, many people might say smoking tobacco is horrible in every aspect. They would argue that smoking has claimed numerous lives, and would curse the person who discovered it. Others might say that the odor from smoking tobacco is not worth it. I completely disagree with these claims. Often the benefits of smoking tobacco are overlooked. In fact, I believe smoking tobacco is beneficial because of its convenience, its ability to help one’s mind set, and its ability to create jobs.…

Another problem is that cigarette butts are left everywhere and this could create a fire hazard. Students carelessly throw away their cigarettes butts without bothering to put them out. There are designated bins, especially for cigarettes where one could put it out and throw it away but no one actually seems to do it. Imagine, on a hot summer day someone might forget to put the cigarette out and throw it out onto the grass. The grass could catch on fire, and spread, and burn the whole building down.…

While I do not want to lump all cigarette smokers into one category, the few bad ones do ruin it for the “good ones”. Many smokers after they have completed their cigarette, flick the butt onto the ground. If you have ever in your life picked up trash you can understand how disgusting it is to pick up trash with that trash picker only to fight to pick up the cigarette butt. You do not want to pick it up with your hand, someone’s saliva and germs were all over the cigarette butt. What is even worse, is when someone’s cigarette butt is not even a mere two inches away from one of those cigarette…

In today’s society with all the stressors and day to day things we deal with, some people are just unable to function without that little while rolled up paper to take the edge off. As a previous social smoker I never really realized how much it affected others around me or that I smelled so horrendous after the fact even if it was just a couple while I enjoyed a few adult beverages. But now as a non-smoker, it really gets to me when I am around a large group of people or even just one person who is smoking in my presence. It causes my eyes to water, my nose to burn and sometimes sticks to my clothes and hair without even asking! It has now become the governments increase in income and way of life for many people. Nicotine is an addictive drug, which when inhaled in cigarette smoke reaches the brain faster than the use of IV drugs. Smokers not only become physically addicted to nicotine; they also link smoking with many social activities, making smoking a difficult habit to break.…

Finally, smoking is expensive and time-wasting. Let’s say you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, at $8 a pack, that means you’re blowing $8 a day, $56 a week and approximately $2912 a year on smoking. As you can see, you spend a lot of money on cigarettes if you’re a smoker. As reported by Tobaccofactfile.org, “Research has shown that smoking reduces life expectancy by seven to eight years. On average, each cigarette shortens your life anywhere from seven to eleven minutes. In other words, the time it takes you to smoke a cigarette equals the time that cigarette takes off of your…
