Personal Narrative: I Was A Rebel
This summer I was a rebel. I wouldn’t listen to my mom; I would lie to her and yell at her all the time because of people I thought were my friends. This summer I learned two lessons.
It all started at the beginning of the summer. I started hanging out with my best friend, going to dances with her mom, and sometimes even with my mom. At one of the dance I went to there was really loud Mexican music. We were all dancing and having a great time. I met this girl named Brittney and her friend Sofia we bumped into them when we were getting something to drink. I remembered them because I had them on Facebook; I just had never talked to them in person. I went up to them and started talking to them about how we would always talk on Facebook and say we were going to hang out but never did until now.
I started hanging out with them a lot after that day because I had lots of fun that night with them. My mom even approved of me hanging out with them. They lived in Liberal so they would either come hang out with me in Dodge or Garden or they would take me to Liberal with them.
One day I went to

My mom thought I ran away and I guess she called the cops. The next morning Brittney told me the cops were looking for me and I was like why didn’t you tell me since yesterday and she said because she didn’t want to get in trouble. So I walked to gas station and asked to borrow a phone to call my mom and she told me to stay there because a cop was going to come get me. I was crying she was crying and the cop finally go there and thank god it was a girl cop well she put me in hand cuffs and took me to the station they asked me questions and I waited for my mom. She got there and I got home and she told me I was grounded and my friend Brittney texted my mom saying she had my phone. I told my mom that wasn’t possible because I lost it at the carnival turns out she had my phone the whole time because she didn’t want to get

With ever story of victory, comes a drowning idea of failure. Throughout our live, these battles are fought, taking not only mental strength, but physical as well. Some of these battles are chosen, while the rest flank from behind. With this in mind, a story of victory must be told, on behalf of my Aunt, Joenell. Her battle took place in April, of 2009, she went to the Suttee Delta hospital, in Antioch California for a doctor’s visit, for fear that something was wrong, during this visit she informed her doctor that she felt a not on her left breast. Soon after, she had a mammogram, and an ultrasound done, revealing three cancerous lumps. As the doctor went into detail, she started to realize the gravity of the situation. For the first time; at the age of 59, she was confronted with the most life threating event she had ever faced. So for a second opinion, she went to the Epic Cancer center, also in Antioch California. Certainly, the last thing anyone would like to hear during a doctor’s visit, she knew there would be some decisions to be made, time to study up.…

In the memoir This Boy’s Life, written by Tobias Wolff, we follow the youth and adolescence of Tobias as Jack. Through Jack’s childhood it seems as though he is stuck in a loop. No matter where Jack goes he is known as a “hotshot” or a “good for nothing” and he hates the fact that is who he is and what he is known as. He dislikes his life and doesn’t know why he does the things he does but it seems like he is almost forced to hang out with the wrong crowd and do bad things because no one gives him the chance to do better. This is the reason that Jack is a self-hating rebel, because he hates the way he is and wants to be better but he can’t be controlled to be something he isn’t.…

When one reads this part, “be anyone for one single day”, from the prompt, I can safely assume most people would think of well known people such as George Washington or Thomas Jefferson. Famous people. However, as for me, my thoughts were the complete opposite. The American Revolution was occurring, so there is no time to be famous. I want to fight, I want liberation. I want to be separated from the oppressive Parliament. Who or what I want to do? I want to fight for freedom. In all my experiences, I’ve encountered so many injustices done to other people and myself. I don’t want to be a bystander. There is a strong desire to participate in this war so I can change the world and make it a better place. There shall be no more injustices, no more…

The night of April, 18, 1775 I was abruptly woken up by some random man running through Boston yelling “The British are coming, the British are coming!” I was not very happy of getting less than a hour of sleep. This weird man came through around 10:30 PM and woke everyone in the town from there sleep. At first when I heard him say that phase I did not know what he meant by it. I then gathered with my neighbors outside and was told if I wanted to fight the British I had to sign my name on the books in the city hall later that evening. When I went to that meeting later that night they told me to go home get a pound of bread a flask of water and my gun, and to also get a little rest and when the drums sound go stand on the green. So I went home and rested a little and then said my goodbyes to little Johnny and Benjamin. Until we all heard the drums. I then went with my…

He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. A fighter, That's what some people call me. Family, friends, people I don't even really know. They call me a fighter because I fight in my head, against something that can be way more powerful than me. If I win a fight, they call me a fighter because I overcame it, I faced it and won. If I loose, They call me a fighter because I get back on my feet and face it again. There is an infinite amount of rounds. I am almost always fighting. Fighting for my freedom, my happiness, fighting for an amazing life. How do I not give up after 11 years? How do I not get tired? Cause I believe I am strong. I believe that life is a game. There are challenges and obstacles, big and small, that makes life hard. But at the end of every challenge, there is an adventure, an experience. Everyone's game is full of challenge and experiences , good or bad. Only the strongest people are willing to get up and play, and if an…

I have faced many trials in my life: emotionally, mentally, and physically, etc. In my youth, my family and I moved every couple of years because my father serves in the Army. Each move introduced new challenges and adjustments. I have lived in five different states, but six different cities. I constantly had to learn how to readjust to my new environment. Moving taught me how to adapt socially , but always starting out as “the new girl” or an “outsider” was burdensome. Repeatedly leaving people I cared about hurt me emotionally, but I also knew that I couldn’t linger in my feelings or else I would miss out on other life opportunities. In order to overcome the feeling of being an outsider, I joined school clubs, participated in extracurricular activities such as soccer and track, and volunteer at church.…

It is a beautiful day in Sacramento, California and I am just getting lunch at “Mrs. Castillo’s home for Orphans” while I was eating string cheese and carrots with my best friend Elijah, my other friend Allie ran into the cafeteria and said “Hey! Samara! I have something for you, from Mrs. Castillo! After she was done sprinting, she handed me a note that said “Mrs. Castillo’s office, and I looked at the bottom and I saw something circled… and it said NOW!!! In all capitals. I knew that I did something wrong, I just knew it! I was so nervous I felt like I was going to throw up. As I was getting dropped off and hearing my mom telling me bye I started to cry. Being really close to my mom I didn't want her to leave me there all alone. So we walked in together and she told me that I was going to be all right. My mom and my new teacher, Mrs. Fossum were having a hard time getting me to stay there. After they saw that I wouldn't stay, my mom had to stay there with me thru out that whole day. As the first day went on I was making a bunch of friends with my new classmates. When the second day came I wanted my mom to stay at school but I realized that she had to go to work. After she had left I saw a table that had some crayons and some paper on it, so I ventured over to it and stood by the seat watching to see if anyone was going to stop me from drawing. No one came so I took a seat, a piece of paper, and of course a blue coloring pencil just like the one I had at home and started to draw. When the other children saw that I was already hard at work with my drawing, which somewhat looked like a cow, they came and sat down with me. Even the child that didn’t want to leave his father noticed me and…

We had to get up really early like 5:30 in the morning to go. I’m pretty sure that my cousins left that day too. This was the first time we have met Kenny and his daughters for all I remember of. My dad has mentioned him before to me about one of his daughters dance recital how she wanted me to go. Both of Kenny’s daughters are dancers but one is now 18 years old her name is Gabby and the other is 10 years old whose name is Kelsie. Kelsie’s dance recital is the one she wanted me to go to so that she could meet me and hang out with me but this was years ago. I never went because we were doing something else instead. So on the way to Siesta Key we were all sleeping because it was a long drive and really early in the morning. When we got there it was about the middle of the day the sun was out and the sand was real. What I mean by the sand is real is it was pure white and soft and cold. The sand by the lakes and beaches in Michigan is not real it doesn’t feel real or look real. We hung out with Kenny’s daughters and played a bunch of games such as, mother may I mafia, and tag etc. They are really nice and fun to hang out with too. Then we got ready to go because we had to leave the next morning to go home. We couldn’t spend the night there we had to go to a hotel because there wasn’t enough room for all of us to fit in that…
