Personal Narrative Essay: Working After School
It’s a Friday,” says my mom. She asked me to go to with her to work this Friday to help out with the staff after school. I roll my eyes, annoyed by even the idea of going to that old boring mental institution. I sigh. I don't have a choice when it comes to me and my mother. “It sounds like so much fun,” I say sarcastically. “Sarah, you’ll be fine,” replys my mom. I ignore her and go to school.

After school, I walk towards the parking lot and already I see my mom waiting for me in her car. I walk towards the white car noticing that she is wearing her uniform. Again, I roll my eyes as I get in the car. My mom glances over at me and doesn't say a word. Then she drives off.

Eventually, we approach a median size building with about 8 floors in total. The building look about several years old. As we walk in we are immediately checked by security to make sure we don't have any items that can be used to possibly harm a person. They then take our belongings and put them into single lockers that are kept locked 24/7. After they game me a sticker that read my name, Sarah Newman, in red ink. My mom first makes me put on a

i must have bang my head hard against the ground. I grab my head and notice that I'm bleeding from the side. As I get up I realize that I’m the only person in sight. I sit down for a minute trying to make sense of everything that has happened. I remember that the patient 314 has escaped. I also remember the shouting and the running. Scared from that memory, I focus on how I'm suppose to get out this abandoned mental institution. I head for the hallway and walk towards a huge map on a T.V. that directs you to the only available exit opened in this event. It read GARAGE. So i had to make a plan. Since I was on the 7th floor and I needed to get to the garage which was located under the 1st floor. I headed to the elevators, but seemed to be shut off so I had no other choice but to take the

The reason my academics aren’t going well as you or I would like is because of the several family issues I’ve had to face during my high school career. It began my Sophomore year, I found out my mom needed surgery in her arm so the chances of her cancer spreading would be reduced. I was under a great deal of stress worrying about my mother, taking care of my four siblings making sure they knew everything was going to be okay, even though I wasn’t sure myself. It was all up to me; while my other brother worked to help with bills, my mom being in the hospital, and my dad working. Taking care of my siblings consisted of cooking, homework, cleaning, nightly routine, and putting them to bed. When the work was done it would be around 10 o'clock. It was already tough to buckle down and focus on homework without all the stress. With all this my first semester grade was less than great.…

If I were given the opportunity to change something, I would definitely choose to go back and do over the years I was in high school. During my time there, it was more important for me to do things that were more fun than sitting in class and learning. I thought that being in school was only useful for socializing and passing time. I only went because my parents forced me and so I never put any real effort into it, my adult life suffered very much because of it. Not having a high school education set me back in a lot of ways, and it closed many potentially successful job opportunities. After finally realizing what I lost, I decided to come back to school. I finally see doors opening for me now, that could have been open for me since the beginning…

My high school graduating class consisted of 66 students, so obviously everyone knew everyone and unfortunately everyone’s business. When I was a junior, a well-known and liked senior boy had a very public breakup with his girlfriend of 3 years. They had met as freshmen and were expected to marry after finishing school. The next day he drove his car at what police estimated in excess of 100 miles per hour into a concrete railroad bridge that crossed the main road out of town. After that, the bridge became known as Burkett’s bridge and I was never able to drive through it without getting a chill and goosebumps on my arms. It’s been over 40 years since high school, and it is amazing how often I still think of Bobby and his…

Junior year was a year to remember, I learned many valuable lessons that I could apply to my senior year. Mrs.Wright was my english teacher and was one of my hardest classes that year. I appreciate her for making her class a challenge from essays to research papers, I learned from them and became a better writer because of her. My life during the time was overwhelming due to family problems, many of my other teachers and peers supported me and I highly thank them. One of my favorite activities was the pep rallys, Mrs.Wright told us “If you win, I will give you five points on your test,” This made our junior class pumped and ready to take the spirit stick! I loved the feeling of having pride in my school and also the ideal of winning just to…

In four years when I read this I honestly won’t be surprised if nothing really changes. I can’t see myself changing in any major ways. I will always love sports, hunting, fishing guns and anything that has four wheels. I sure I will still not understand the point of reading books for school and writing long papers about things that I don’t exactly care or relate to me. Although, in order for this letter to do it’s job in four years I need to start from the beginning.…

I had to dig deep for this! Dig deep to figure out what big problems I faced throughout these past years. It wasn't easy for me because I faced many difficulties throughout my life. Then I remember a time in my first 2 years of high school. I was oblivious. Confuse about my future. Whether I wanted to do something after high school. I have to admit school wasn't my priority in freshman year. I wouldn't get the best grade, but they weren't the worst either. All I cared about is having friends. Then something hit me. Seeing all these seniors not graduate on time. Seeing many kids struggle financially after high school. I eventually notice that those who go to college succeed more. Especially being a minority it's extremely difficult to succeed…

High School was a great experience. Not only did it teach me about Math, History and English, but it also taught me about choices and consequences. I had several close friends who did not get the same experience that I did. One of my friends had a rough start in life. At the end of our junior year she became pregnant with her first child. We started our senior year ready to celebrate our high school years coming to an end. She had so many plans for after high school. As the school year went on she expressed to me how her child father was being very supportive at first, but recently felt that he was no longer treating her the same.…

I became a sophomore just one year ago and I have enjoyed every bit of the High School. I’ve met new friends and I have seen some old good friends. I have appreciated what I have right now in school, grade and teacher wise. All of the teachers have been extremely helpful throughout the time I have been in High school. For the first few months of High school I had some bummed out times. I was bummed out because I was disappointed that I didn’t have any classes with any of my friends. I figured if I had at least one or two classes with my friends it would be another awesome year like ninth grade was when I had almost all of my classes with at least one of my friends.…
