Personal Narrative Essay: The Battle Of A Gun
Have you ever been in a high intensity nerf war with your family? My family has them all the time. We split up into teams then go shoot each other with nerf guns. The battle takes place at night, and the lights are shut off making it hard to see, and much more difficult.
My house has an upstairs and a downstairs with two stair cases on each side of the house. This makes it possible to have two ways to go up or down. First Thing I always do is get down to the gun creat before anyone else does because it is a “first come first serve” kind of deal. I pick a shotgun like gun except it was a lot smaller and much easier to run with. I also took a handful of darts so I wouldn't run out. My mom and dad each picked a small handgun with a handful of darts as well. My brother stashes guns in his room along with a Nerf

“Ok sorry mom.” As he finally got down the stairs I looked at the guns he brought down. He had two automatics and three different other guns you have to load and shoot by hand. I looked at all the guns and said, “do you think you have enough?”
He said, “I might need them” I just turned away and shook my head at all his

I opened the door some more and saw where my brother was sitting aiming at the stair case. He still did not see me when I raised my gun, but then my mom finally came out of her hiding spot firing a dart that hit the wall three inches to my right. I fired just before but missed my brother. I saw my mom run down the other staircase, and I knew if I was going to win I would need to shoot her first. I ran down the stairs so fast I almost fell, but I ducked into the laundry room just as she came around the corner. She did not see me, but I saw her. She went down the hall for a few feet then ducked into the laundry room just in front of me. I said,” hi mom!” Then I fired my gun and she was out. Now I needed to get my

With ever story of victory, comes a drowning idea of failure. Throughout our live, these battles are fought, taking not only mental strength, but physical as well. Some of these battles are chosen, while the rest flank from behind. With this in mind, a story of victory must be told, on behalf of my Aunt, Joenell. Her battle took place in April, of 2009, she went to the Suttee Delta hospital, in Antioch California for a doctor’s visit, for fear that something was wrong, during this visit she informed her doctor that she felt a not on her left breast. Soon after, she had a mammogram, and an ultrasound done, revealing three cancerous lumps. As the doctor went into detail, she started to realize the gravity of the situation. For the first time; at the age of 59, she was confronted with the most life threating event she had ever faced. So for a second opinion, she went to the Epic Cancer center, also in Antioch California. Certainly, the last thing anyone would like to hear during a doctor’s visit, she knew there would be some decisions to be made, time to study up.…

Mr. Hittson I totally apologize for Coltens actions. He is definately being raised better than that. I have had a long talk with him over this issue. I noticed this morning Colten seemed upset about something when he got dropped off. When he got into the school I texted him and told him to not let anything deter him in school if he is upset. He has been having girlfriend issues that I have been trying to guide him through and I think that is what has been wrong with him. He's usually not like this. He is being raised in a very good home with good guidance. I told him I will not tolerate him using profanity and disrespecting the teachers or the school. I also told him that in the future if he acts the same with future bosses, then he will be…

The book, American Sniper, by Chris Kyle is an informative story of the life of Kyle and the delimas he went through in and out of the war. Kyle was extremely effective in showing the reader what the life of a Navy SEAL was like, both what he went through while at war and the controversies he went through out of service. The authors main point of writing the novel is to show everyone a SEAL’s point of view of war, instead of the “propaganda” seen on the news. How do you decide what is true and what is false? In war the line blurs even more. We hear war stories and wonder about the truth of these stories. We love to believe the stories of heroism and bravery. Now how do we know that these stories are real and not created propaganda? The Things They Carried by Tim O?Brien is a fiction book that shines some light on war stories. This complex book focuses on a complex war. The Vietnam War was complex for the reasons surrounding it. Some of the reasons were; the question why we were over there, governments that told half truths on what was going on, and the style of fighting was totally different compared to the past wars. This new style is called guerrilla warfare. O?Brien writes stories that make you…

What about the hundreds of soldiers that were massacred by students and then mutilated, hung up on overpasses and burned out buses like fucking ornaments. The army didn't open fire for no reason. If I was an officer and I saw my men being burned to a crisp and hung up, of course I would open fire on the animals. want proof? here, http://nsnbc.me/2013/04/29/lets-talk-about-tiananmen-square-1989-my-hearsay-is-better-than-your-hearsay/…

After hours of sitting in the passenger seat of a white Ford F-150 watching cornfield after cornfield after cornfield fly by my hallow stomach let out a roar like a lion on the African safari, my dad takes his eyes off the road and says,” skip lunch much?” Then I saw it, the light at the end of a hundred and eighty-six-mile-long tunnel on the left hand side of the road “Cracker Barrel.” I sat down at the table and know what I was going to order. Our waitress plopped down a half pound of perfectly prepared beef deliciousness topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. I devoured it, we were back on the road to castle Vanm. I woke up the next morning excited to shoot my first gun on the farm. My dad walked out and unsheathed a over and under…

Andre Dubus’ “Killings” and Tim O’Brien’s “How to Tell a True War Story” both deal with violence and the moral ambiguity surrounding it, although the authors employ different approaches based on the emotional response they are trying to create in the reader. Because the stories are set in dissimilar environments, the way in which the authors depict violence is geared to the setting in which it occurs. However, the harmful effects of violence on the human psyche are portrayed in similar ways in both stories.…

This week lesson by far has been the most interesting for me even though I did have trouble on downloading the information. I myself don’t agree with the lesson when it comes to the term assault rifle though. In the lesson, it said the term is a rifle that aesthetically resembles that is currently or previously issued in military service. I’ve always believed that an assault rifle is a fully automatic weapon that is used by the military like a M16 or M4 used and a AR15 is a Semi-automatic weapon sold to civilians. Labeling a AR-15 as an assault weapon is wrong and sends messages out to the gun banning liberal retards that this weapon is a military made and very dangerous.…
