By doing this wallet activity, I was able to meet someone I have never spoken to before and learn about her life. I have learned that Sarah has worked two jobs and has gained a great work ethic. I have gained empathy for her because I am able to relate to the lack of time she has with working with volleyball. I am grateful for this activity because it reminds me that we all go through similar struggles.…

“I got this! I got this! Just calm down and take position. She constantly overthinks and worries about her performance. Her nerves even cause her to wake up early to prepare.…
“I can’t believe I’m doing this” I mutter into my wooly scarf. It’s 4 o’clock in the afternoon and the weather reads ten degrees Fahrenheit. I shift my weight and try to get into a more comfortable squatting position as the rocks dig into my boots. I look around; it’s a rather dreary day with no clouds in sight. I scribble in a notepad. Five minutes in and my hands are numb.…
I interviewed Laura Jennings because she is very approachable, even though she has a busy schedule she makes time for you. When she talks, her energy kind of rubs off on you and makes you excited for college. And when I went to interview her, she was more than happy to answer my questions. Some of hers jobs at the college are being a student coach, and basically what she does is helps students be more successful in college. She also teaches ACA-111, and she an student advisor. She pursued this career because she really enjoyed working with students and seeing them succeed.…

I approached this semester with dread. Most of my life I have made a conscious effort to avoid writing classes at all costs. Not for lack of ability, rather a lack of interest. Thus was my mentality entering into my semester of English Composition.…
Just this morning, I was complaining to my dad that I hadn't seen a decent movie in a very long time. This was until I watched The Other Sister. I'm not much of a sucker for romantic comedies, or chick flicks, but The Other Sister had such an endearing quality about it that I couldn't help but fall in love.…
Life can have so many challenges a person will have to endure. Some will be making it to the NBA playoffs and others will be perfecting the cheesecake. For me, it would be the most, terrified thing a young person would ever have, the SAT. Know for its extremely dull black and white pages and its rigorously rough questions, I was about to prove myself against its makers, The College Board.…
Crack! The sound of my bat hitting the ball echoed throughout the stadium. Dust went flying everywhere as I took off running towards first base. I dropped my head, concentrating only on putting one foot in front of the other as fast as I possibly could. Everything else seemed like a blur to me. I rounded first base, praying for my feet to move faster. Dust stung my eyes, but I couldn’t stop now.…
time for me to begin my 10 minute warming up. I move my head side to side, stretch my legs, and I begin to walk briskly. I drank my water because I need to stay hydrated. When I was ready I sprinted out like a rocket. My brother began to time me. It took me 12 minutes to finish my one mile. Once I felt that my heart was pounding, my stomach started to develop painful cramps, and my My throat was as dry as a bone. I stopped and took deep breaths in and out. I took a five minute break and finished my 3 miles by walking. Once I finished my three miles I felt proud of myself and motivated for the next days to…
My writing has changed a lot in my first-semester essay writing class. I finally took a class that teaches me useful information and how to properly write an essay. Essay Writing overall was a fun experience it was a slow start for me in the beginning but once I was able to get the work done I was fine. There were a lot of positives to taking this class. I started the year struggling to come up with ideas to write about nut now I can brainstorm and put my words down on the paper better than ever. “If I could travel anyplace in the world for free, I would want to go to North Korea. I would love to see what it's like.” I struggled with proper punctuation and the use of commas and such throughout my high school career and I still struggle with it I hope to learn more about it in the near future. “Cars are one of the best inventions ever.” I needed some direction on making my sentences longer with getting to the point at the same time. There's a lot of small things I need to still improve on but I feel like I got a good start with the Essay Writing course. I got a lot of useful feedback from Mrs.Pennings on all my essays like when to use certain words and proper punctuation and some compliments the really…
Kissing Sarah for the first time, it was like Aerosmith lyrics flashed through my mind; “I could spend my life in this sweet surrender, I could stay lost in this moment forever.” I hope to spend my life with you to experience every moment, every aspect, I told her, and she said, if she could choose, not one second will be away from me.…
