Personal Narrative: A Day In Elementary School
I don't remember much from Elementary School, but I do remember some things. Like how I almost lost a friend because she thought that I told on her. The entire thing happened in fourth grade. We were very dramatic about the whole situation. Well what fourth grader isn't dramatic about things? Most people are at that age.

It all happened at H.W. Good Elementary School, in the fourth grade hallway. My friend Devon and I were walking down the hallway coming back from the office. We were taking something there for a teacher. Devon was a very hyper and active kid and she still is. She would always do cartwheels and backflips and all that jazz. In the hallway we were walking in, there were classrooms all down the hall. Kids in fourth grade do

So, I did a cartwheel like she said. Then after doing the last cartwheel, I fell right on my face. Devon ran away into her classroom like nothing happened. She didn't even tell the teacher! I was absolutely infuriated. So many things were going through my head. Did she run to get me some help? Is someone coming to get me? At some point all I saw was blood and then I just blacked out completely.

When I opened my eyes, I saw the light. I thought that I was dead. I was actually just in the hospital because of how hard i fell. I didn't know how I got there or who got me some help. The next thought that i had was if I was okay. My mom was sitting next to me and kept asking how I was feeling. I told her I felt fine but my head just hurt. She told me the doctor said I have a concussion, but i'll be okay.

When i went back to school, Devon was mad at me. I didn't really know why, but I asked her. She kept accusing me of telling on her for doing cartwheels in the hallway. I kept denying, but in reality i actually did. I mean, who wouldn't tell? She started doing them, then asked me to do one, I did one, and I fell on my face. I mostly told on her because she didn't get me help. That day, I thought I lost a friend. We just stopped talking for a while and once we got to middle school, our lockers were right next to each other. We started talking again and now we are friends to this

I learned a lesson all the way back in first grade, and that lesson has stuck with me ever since. I was coming in from recess, and I was talking to a friend of mine off to my left. Unfortunately, I was not watching where I was going. I kept barely taking glances of what was in front of me, and that was a huge mistake. Someone was running behind me, and wasn’t watching where they were going either. As I approached the building I heard yelling, but thought nothing of it. After all, recess had just finished, so obviously kids would be yelling, right? It turns out some kids had been playing tag, and decided to play until they got inside. One that was still running away, because God forbid he’d be “it,” was Nick.…

It started out like any other day. I got out of bed and scrambled to get out the door after I took an extra hour in the shower. I hopped into a seat next to my best friend Erin. We talked for the ten minute ride before finally arriving at school. I sat down in homeroom waiting for the bell to ring. Brrriinnngggg! I rushed to Mrs. Gregory’s room for Lit. Everything was fine until gym class. I had forgotten my assignment notebook in Mrs. Saphir’s room so I ran back upstairs to get it from under my chair. As I started to walk back towards the locker room I heard the bell ring… late! I walked into the locker room hoping Mrs. Dennis wouldn’t notice my tardiness, but my locker is right next to her office. I quickly filled out a minor for before…

“Skrt skrt!” The brand new 2003 minivan door slowly slid closed as my mom held my hand. My first day of kindergarten started walking through the rocky terrain up to Jacobson Elementary School on a hot, summer morning. Prepared with my lunch box full of goodies and plaid backpack weighing me down, I walked through the gates to the kindergarten playground. My mom helped me find the girl I met on “Meet the Teacher Night” and stayed close by as we played in the ant-infested, wood chip playground. Then suddenly, in the middle of making a wood chip pancake, the bell rang as if it was taunting me, I knew what was about to happen and so did my mother as I watched her face droop more and more as the bell rang it’s three chimes. My mom walked with me to the wall my teacher designated as the wall to line up on. My hand started to constrict around my mother’s as we approached the wall, as we got closer my knuckles began to turn white. My teacher, Mrs. Priest, announced it was time for the parents to leave.…

Growing up I spent most of my childhood in Vietnam living an ordinary life. My parents were not risk-takers until they decided to quit their career as educators and move to the United States. Knowing that life in America will be challenging for immigrants, we mentally prepared ourselves to be fearless and get through every obstacle that is in our way. No matter how prepare we were, being a newcomer was frightful. When I first step foot on the land of promise, there was a mixed emotion suddenly rushed through me as a signal telling me life here will not be easy. We faced will endless obstacles and the language barrier is the most, the biggest challenge for us. Personally, I think learning a new language is difficult and requires a lot of hard…
