Personal Achievement Goals Essay Sample
Goal 1: Personal Achievement Goal
There are many types of goals. Growing up, I always dreamed of being two things: a mother and a nurse. I am blessed to have two wonderful children ages 14 and 16 and have had the privilege of being able to be a stay-at-home mom during their younger years. Now that they are older and a bit more independent, I have decided to go back to school and fulfill my goal of earning my degree in Nursing. Throughout the years of growing and maturing, I have learned how important it is to have good morals, values, goals, a passion for something, and a good education. I have not only taught my children the importance of these characteristics, but I have also shown them that regardless of one’s age or stage in life, that

I would like to become as educated as possible in any way I can to accomplish this goal. At the same time, I look forward to going through all my clinical rotations through my school, and am also up for the task upon being hired at any hospital I am given the privilege to work at, to be a “floater”. This will give me the experience and knowledge in various departments so that I can be well-rounded, and when called upon for help, I can quickly assist. I believe it is important to be a team player and be open to …show more content…
We as nurses need to do more than show up to work; we must stay current in the healthcare industry and up to date with newest developments, care plans and technology, so that we can maintain on-going success as nurses and give our patients the best care. In being a nurse, I very much believe that education does not end when you graduate, but continues each day and through-out your career. I see myself becoming better and learning each day by being on various committees at the hospital I am working at, attending staff meetings, and being an active leader. I believe this is important not only in a hospital setting, but outside as

Excellent post. Education is power, and we need to be motivated by either our employers or educational institutions. The burden of education should not remain on employees alone. Educational Institutions should continue to seek for ways in which nursing education could be improved, increase capacity and also graduate qualified nurses in a timely manner, while hospitals and other health care providers have to encourage lifelong learning and offer bonuses for RNs to further their education to baccalaureate degree and higher level…

There is a significant need to increase the education level of all nurses. Ongoing nurse education must be continuously available and provided. Learning at a higher level of education and learning new skills would then provide greater job satisfaction and motivation to the nurses that are currently experiencing fatigue and deter fatigue from those who have not yet encountered it. Emphasis on learning would lead to nurses understanding the value of higher education and lead them to continue their education.…

Being in the medical field for the past ten years, I have seen the growth and changes in the medical field. When I began my nursing career as a medical assistant, I noticed many other nurses continuing their education to be able to have greater hands on approach in nursing. This opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that a nurse can do, whether it’s with direct patient care or being a resource to patients and other nurses around. After completing my RN in May of 2015, I decided that I really enjoyed being a mentor and teacher to other nurses. That is why I am continuing on with my education in hopes to one day receive my Master’s degree in Nursing and be able to utilize the knowledge and skills that I build, to educate patients. I still…

This is a requirement that I feel all nurses should be a part of no matter where they are at in their career. Just like the thirty continuing education units all nurses must have when renewing their nursing license, all nurses should always continue to learn and educate themselves on new advanced technologies and information so nurses can stay on top of their game. For me, I planned to continue my education level into a master’s program and continue to learn more about my psychiatric nursing field.…
