I chose this ad because I know that there are a lot of women who are interested in learning how to play golf. Women are often intimidated to indulge in the game because it has been known to be a men’s game. However, it doesn’t mean that women wouldn’t love to be a part of the game. So often when families go on a vacation or even a simple get away, they are unable to decide on a leisure activity that all parties in the family will enjoy. It’s hard enough finding something that the children can be included in when it’s necessary. Well at times it can be just as difficult for the adults in different genders finding a common area of interest. This ad is targeted towards the women because often times, women are the planners in the family get away. Women will grab the ad’s message a lot easier because of the photo that depicts the ideal golf player. It will make a wonderful advertisement in the Global Travel magazine because it appeals to travelers who are looking for an affordable place to visit with rewards. Even men will be interested in the advertisement because the idea of their wife or girlfriends being involved in golf as they are, is a wining ordeal for everyone. The Country Springs Golf resort is frequently visited by more men than there are women and for this reason, I aimed my focus on the women aspect. I think that even if I were to introduce my ad to some other popular magazines for traveling the same message will stick out and it will result in the same amount of feedback as well as attention of the consumers. The magazines that I have in mind are two of the top ten traveling magazines in the

    Lexus Ad Analysis Essay

The advertisement that I chose is for the new Lexus LS F sports car. The ad shows a car in the middle of the picture with an attractive man and woman standing on each side of the car. A dark and dimmed glass room with shadowy figures in the background gives the impression of a club or theater at night. The words “memorable performance” is largely displayed at the bottom of the advertisement. This advertisement mainly attracts men because it portrays a man driving around with an attractive woman. By using an intriguing picture, a dark background, and bold words, this ad illustrates a message that if men drive this Lexus, they are more likely to live a glamorous life.…

This represents that the catalog is intended only for athletic men. The catalog cover image corroborates our culture, gender bias that men are told that sports are typically boys’ fields while arts are girls’ fields. In addition, society views the sports’ world as a man’s world because people who are involved with sports are usually drawn to this ad, especially men. The cover image in Eastbay catalogs of only men athletes challenges the social expectation of no gender bias. In other words, the lack of women’s images in the visual design features on Eastbay catalogs challenge the social expectation of women’s equality. Thus challenging women equality, including the opportunity of women sports to be considered at the same importance level as men’s sports. Nevertheless, publishing catalogs with only men cover images confirms the media’s message that challenges the social expectation of no gender bias. The magazine The Atlantic adds the fact that “female players do not get much attention from the mainstream media” (Bodenner). This fact supports the message of lack of women cover images in sports magazine advertisements including the Eastbay…

In the magazine Woman’s Day they put an ad that is family oriented. There is a mother and daughter and they are holding a happy meal and looking happy. The daughter has dark hair and it’s in pigtails with a red ponytail. She is wearing a strip shirt with a red trim with blue jeans, with a necklace that’s yellow and red and a couple bracelets that are red. The mother has dark hair, it’s curly. She is wearing a white shirt that has red flowers and a green cardigan with blue jeans and silver earrings. There is a white background with black text that tells you what buying a Happy Meal from McDonalds will do and what it goes to. The ad looks naturally lit, not to bright and not to dark. Underneath the text is two pictures, one of a mother and daughter and the daughter is sick and the other one is of the Ronald McDonald house.…

I couldn't be more excited to finally play on a girls golf team starting this next Monday! After having three concussions ending my soccer career, my dad came to me and suggested I join the golf team. As a freshman, I joined the boys team at Slinger High School. Most of the guys accepted the idea of a girl playing with them. Many helped me out and treated me like any other teammate, which definitely calmed my nerves for the first few weeks. I competed in almost all the matches. The first few matches were very scary because I got many strange looks from other teams. My teammates were always there for me though. I became so comfortable and by the end of the season I made many friends and accomplished a lot as an individual. I found myself in…

The day had come, my very first state event which happened to be the 2013 State “A” Girls Golf Tournament. As a single competitor coming from the small town of Lennox, I had come out of regions placing 19th in which the top twenty-five make the cut. As a seventh grader, the feelings of competing at an event like this was overwhelming, and, overall, I had no idea what I would be getting myself into.…

Remember when the World Cup was the biggest sporting even in the world? Well, World Cup advertising and its other choice catchphrases include “EXPLAIN YOUR FOOTBALL PASSION TO THE MISSUS. IF YOU CAN GET A SIGNAL IN SOUTH AFRICA.” Not only do such ads belie the reality that women are actively involved in football (both as players and fans) in greater numbers than at any time in history. They also deliberately encourage insulting notions of women as stupid, incapable of understanding basic concepts and de facto having no part in the world’s biggest sporting event simply because of their sex (Perera). This is an example of the sexist attitudes towards women. Why must women be oblivious to sports just because they’re female? Many advertising companies don’t think how they’re campaigns will effect, but only that it causes attention.…

To start of the ad, you see a mom gardening in her backyard and smiling as she watches her daughter hanging upside down on the playground set. The cute little girl is smiling from ear to ear, and having the time of her life. The playground bar then transitions to an uneven bar in a gymnastics center. Now, the moms smile is replaced with a coaches smile,…

Their focus on the wants and needs of the consumer are clearly stated. They stated that females should read this magazine if they want to be the best that they can be, which attracts consumers. The catchy phrase of “fun, fearless and female” attracts females who hope the magazine will help them become like that; fun and fearless. In our mission statement we similarly tried to attract consumers by targeting their wants and needs. We focused on the aspect of helping answer women’s concerns and questions. Both, we find to be effective and attractive ways to attract the consumers of…

In the above example, Nike is showing support to women athletes by advertising women athletic footwear. Because of this participation, Nike has influenced other corporations to do the same by making great gains for their support. For years gender separation has existed and mainly alienating women from some topics. Shari L. Dworkin and Michael A. Messner, who both hold degrees in gender studies, review a list of academic studies and discuss the different roles that gender play within our American sport culture in the article “Just Do…What? Sport, Bodies, Gender.” Judith Lorber, who writes “Nights to His Day:’ The Social Construction of Gender,” is highly interested in changing conceptions of gender. She believes that gender separation must exist or it could very well be revolutionary if women are not held to specific standards of femininity and masculinity. According to Jean Kilbourne, advertising plays an important role in consumer behaviors; what can seem normal for some, can be dangerous and insulting for others. Although it may be dangerous and insulting, advertisement is gender separated to target certain gender specific. In spite of the best efforts on trying to keep an equal opportunity and integrate the genders, gender separation must still exist. First, sports must remain gender specific; next, marketing must remain gender specific; finally, military must remain gender specific.…
