Patient: A Case Study
Patient is a 58-year-old male who presented to the ED with an intentional overdose. Patient stated: "He was having trouble sleeping last night so I took 5 or 6 Hydrocodone and Alprazolam." At the time of assessment, patient reports he was trying to kill himself by overdosing on pills. Patient reports family conflict and relational issues as the primary stressors contributing to his current distress. Patient reports before he thought to take the medications his wife, stepdaughter, and him got into a argument about family issues and his infidelity the past few months with multiple women.
