Pat Robertson Research Paper
The life and work of Pat Robertson (shortened version):

Pat Robertson is an American Christian Political extremist, born in Lexington Virginia in 1930. Generally he is a supporter of conservative Christian ideals and previously worked as a Baptist minister, although over the years has founded several major organisations and is currently chairman of the Christian broadcasting network. Robertson is a wealthy, powerful and influential man respected by some but feared by others.
He was born into a political family his father being a US senator. He was a bright academic student fortunate to study and gain a history degree at Washington University. In 1948 Robertson was drafted into the Marine Corps and served in the Korean war he later claimed

He has often predicted catastrophic events will take place and when a terrorist attack failed to happen in 2007 he said, “all I can think is that somehow the people of god prayed and god in his mercy spared us”. Personally I find it difficult to understand why anyone would promote his or her religion by putting fear into others.
In addition Robertson hosts his own TV show where members of the public phone in for advice on a range of subjects. There are many examples of the prejudice, racist, sexist and homophobic views he holds; he once stated that a man should not marry a woman who has adopted children as this is “taking on the problems of others”. He then went on to try and justify this comment by donating large amounts of money to orphanages but would not take an orphan into his own home because of the problems that he says come with them.
In my view this is not following God’s word to help others, to see the good in everyone and to forgive those who have sinned. The more I have read about Pat Robertson, the more questions I have which I do not claim to have all the answers to, here are just a few of

In fact, Cadmus goes out to worship Dionysus as a deity by dancing, despite his old age. So why is Cadmus punished to such an extreme extent by Dionysus?…

Conan O’Brien’s show is better. The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is not bad, but it has the same type of jokes that have been told on that show for years. The jokes get a little repetitive after awhile. Fallon has to stay with those jokes because he wants to stay true to the character the show has had for years. Conan’s show is more original because he started it instead of taking over for someone else.…

Pat Robertson is in my opinion a destructive force and demeans the Christian faith, as does Jerry Falwell. He preaches being a Christian yet he fails miserably at being one himself. Robertson once told a caller to his 700 Club show that she should expect her man to wander occasionally, especially if she was not providing a good home for him and his children. The caller had explained she was having a hard time forgiving her husband for cheating on her. Furthermore, Robertson then went on to suggest the woman focus on why she had married her husband and whether he provided for her needs and those of their children, adding, “Is he handsome? Start focusing on these things and essentially fall in love all over again.” Additional scandals also…

Pat Robertson is the master of ceremonies of the highly successful"700 Club," a television show and religious organization of sorts to which you can belong by paying fifteen dollars per month. (Of course, anyone with cable television can watch the show for free of charge.) Reverend Robertson does his act in a much lower register than Reverend Terry. He is modest, intelligent, and has the kind of charm television viewers would associate with a cool-headed talk-show host. His appeal to godliness is considerably more sophisticated than Reverend Terry 's, at least from the standpoint of television. Indeed, he appears to use as his model of communication " Entertainment Tonight." His program includes…

Although he is pro abortion, people wouldn't need to be stuck in situations where they cannot take care of their own child if they hadn't put themselves in those situations. Because of the reckless decisions people make, there are always going to be consequences, and through consequences more wrong choices take place. If people turn to God in their time of need, then he will be able to help us make the right decisions, and if not, God will always have the power to give us the necessary supplies to take care of ourselves and our children. Because I'm only seventeen years old and in high school, I struggle to make it through a day without falling for one of satins temptations, or even one of his ideas he puts in my head. Before I started to follow God I was in the worst of places, and I had hated most of everybody I had met. Because of this I was always depressed and angry at the world wanting it to cease to exist. However, when I truly started to follow God, my eyes were opened, and now I understand that it's not the people that cause me harm, but the sin itself that I should be angry with. I believe Korda is so angry at the world that he created a religion against humans themselves. Because Korda doesn't know who God is, he will continue to be angry with the world, but without truly understanding why he feels the way he does. Because God is graceful, he understands our troubles and needs, and that means he's…
