In hopes to make your final decision, we have some reasons on why we feel this way. One thing is that students don’t tend to wake up early enough, which would cause them to be late to class all the time and then cause them to miss a lot of classes if you add up there all the minutes they missed. Another reason on, why not to shorten the morning bell is they would fall asleep in class a lot, which wouldn’t be good for the student’s work habits.…

Delaying high school schedule, even if only by an hour or just a half hour, would be beneficial to the sleep needs of teenagers. "Studies have show that after puberty, teenagers require more sleep (about nine and half-hours) but get less sleep (about seven and half-hours)" (Silver). After puberty, teens' shift into a delayed phase. Circadian rhythms (sleep patterns) all start and end later in the day than when they had prior puberty (Silver). In the 1990 's, American schools started converting from normal Eight period, fifty minute classes to Four period ninety minute block scheduled classes. This schedule was implemented, so that teachers could fit more in to a class session, then what they were use to be able to. Now in days, most American schools use this system as their main scheduling system. But what many people do not know is that, it is doing harm to the students who have to go through their school years under this system. American schools should not have block scheduling because it causes Retention Problems, it causes Problems with Specific Classes, such as Math, Science, AP classes, Foreign Languages, and Music Programs and it also causes Difficulty when a student is absent from school (Lindsay 3). More time means a more flexible schedule for homework and assignments. Shorter school days, as short as 180/365, 0.493150685 long days or about half the typical hours a school day lasts. Imagine only having to go to school only 3 hours a day! The school year would be longer but the days would be super short. Plus, after school help could last longer for those who need it, and more time for students and teachers to focus on their personal lives, relieving stress for everyone. Ultimately, with all that extra time, students have more time to focus and study. In a year's total, it would give at least 540 more hours of free time, so there would be literally no excuse for late or missing work unless a student has super unique circumstances. information can be retained faster, save time for the teachers, and improve test grades for example my cousin lives in georgia and her year round schooling is going great she’s in the same grade as me and she is farther ahead of me. Less schools hours per day would mean less information that would have to be memorized per day. Miss days will have less effects on information. More ability to take time to do good work. Less have to review at one time. More time for tests review, and less…
