The disease is caused by airborne illness and something in the infected animals waste. Some of the symptoms of this disease in animals are discharge from their nose, weight loss, loss of balance and weakness. In humans they can get this disease by inhaling the infected waste or digesting the particles. One way to test for this is to keep the bird away from other birds. They also will do blood test, examination of the symptoms, same for humans. They can treat this disease by keeping the infected birds away from other birds that may catch this disease. Also disinfecting everything that the bird has touched, for humans giving you medication, Sometimes organ may be involved and surgery may be required. Psittacosis or Parrot flu is caused by bacteria, but also has the same traits of a virus. This disease is mostly caused by a virus that can cause the bird to get this disease. This disease is mostly shows up in cockatiels, Parakeets, and Parrots.
