Parent License
As a 16-year old who is pregnant, how unfair would it be if she was forced to give up her child just after caring for 9 long months just because she is a teen who does not meet parenting requirements? Requiring a license to be a parent should not be provided because if the mother were to fail the test., just imagine all the struggles she has been through. The U.S. should not require a parent license because parent-child relationships could be jeopardized, it would be difficult to enforce, and the government having too much control of our private lives. People today are not going to do what the government wants them to do, including a parent license, without stating “I wouldn't want the government advising me how to parent, plus it does not seem feasible to enforce. If a pregnant mother refused to take ‘mandatory’ classes, what would happen? Would she be fined? arrested?...”(Source A). being forced to acquire a parent license is them telling us that we should violate our individual freedom. Although the act of requiring a parent license could decrease or prevent abuse this does not mean that abuses would not happen after getting a license. People today are slick and think they can act all smart just for the test, and after passing it they will revert back to their old self. Furthermore, the act of enforcing a parent license would cause people to feel as if their life is being judged, which leads to insecurity. Why does the government care about how we parent our children? Even if we take classes this does not mean we are going to do what they taught us. People are from diverse countries all over the world, they may have their own method of parenting in their culture and the authorities cannot change that. We should not let the government interfere with our lives no matter what! Moreover, the government should worry about things that need licenses and that could harm us as Source C asserted “Yet it is outlandish to suggest that activities as mundane as cooking and skiing should be licensed.” Overall our private lives should be our concern and not the government. Now you know the many flaws of requiring a parenting license, like parent-child relationships being jeopardized, it being hard to enforce, and the government having too much control of our private lives.these flaws are abysmal so we would not want the mission of entailing a parent license. It will be a catastrophic moment to the child separating from their parent, based on this we should not let a license control our future
