Schizophrenia

I have always been fascinated by Schizophrenia. I thought it was such an interesting disorder, you watch movies on it, and about it but when you are actually reading about it thats when you get the full affect of it. It is so crazy how the brain is powerful enough to make someone believe they are someone else or be able to shut off a part of it. It is so sad though for those who have it, not being about to control your own body would be terrible. This disorder however is one of the reasons I would love to get more into psychology and maybe find a career in it.

OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, is fascinating. I've watched True Life on Mtv about it and other tv shows that show you how many people live with it. It doesn't sound so bad but then you learn more and you actually see people struggling with it thats when it becomes so real. It actually effects people's lives terribly. Some not being able to sleep or counting their steps, or making sure their door is locked multiple times. It really is a sickness that some have to live with and it's awful, all because the neurons don't run right. The small glitches that can cause major things in your life. It really is interesting thing on how the brain works, and what it can cause.

Bipolar Disorder

My grandma had a friend that was bipolar and I never really noticed until I got older because that was when I was able to understand, but I never really understood until I read about it; Mania, inappropriate rises in mood, emotional, motivational, behavioral, cognitive, and physical. People go from the lowest sadness to the happiest person day to day and some within minutes. Its that extra sense of depression maybe not always worsening but if not helped can lead to some very serious situations. Some may even be death. Leading factors being: nerotransmitter activity, ion activity, brain structure, and genetic factors.
