The Realities of Living the Paleo Diet
The Paleolithic diet is considered the latest fad diet of 2013. The problem with this thought process is that this diet has been around for decades and often called by different names: caveman diet, strong man diet, forager diet, Paleo diet, and Paleolithic diet. Every time an individual hears that there is a new diet that person is automatically reminded of all of the other diets that claim they are healthiest and best out there. In reality the Paleo diet truly can claim that it is the healthiest diet out there. This diet is nutritionally sound in all ways and will help people avoid developing gluten allergies, lower their risk for cancer, lower their risk for heart disease, help diabetics control their diabetes better, as well as avoiding any potential diabetic issues that could occur for those that are high risk or pre-diabetic. However, this does not mean that individuals who are over-all healthy cannot transition to this diet as well and reap benefits from eating healthier. By preparing fresh meals, using only the Paleo approved foods, a person becomes more aware of not only what is being eaten, but how it is made. It teaches those who struggle to cook; how to cook and it teaches those who are decent to good cooks, how to be better or more creative. Creativity is a wonderful side benefit to this diet as well. Exploring new recipes, creating new recipes, and learning to enjoy food as a whole can be a wonderful and enlightening experience as well. So get up and make the choice to live a healthier lifestyle and create better eating
