Introduction
Throughout the Health and Social Care profession there are a number of different factors that help influence communication and interpersonal interactions. Throughout this essay, I will describe what the different factors are and how and why they influence communication and interpersonal interactions. I will also talk about what strategies there are that can help a person overcome the different barriers to communication.
Lastly I will end the essay by reviewing and evaluating strategies that are used in health and social which help to overcome barriers to communication and interpersonal interactions.

Attitude
A person’s attitude can help overcome a barrier to communication. This is because when a person has a positive attitude towards them it will help enhance their communication and the way that they communicate with one another. It will encourage the person that is communicating to the other person, to want to share more information and perhaps make them want to share a subject of information that is sensitive to them.
If an individual has a negative attitude towards another person, then this will hinder their communication and make them not share the information that needs to be shared. It can make the recipient feel as though they are a target and that they are being verbally abused as the other person may be being nasty and using anger in their
