Overcoming: A Possible Cause In The World Today
Overcoming is a probable cause in this world today. Most people today have experienced it from one time to another, and if you have not experienced the pain of failure I would consider you lucky. Failure is something that everyone must try to accept. Not everyone is willing to accept their flaws, and they are not willing to accept they are not good enough sometimes.
I have experienced overcoming a hardship countless times and these events are still occurring. For example, when I play a volleyball match and I lose control over the ball and derange the play I know that not only have I failed myself, but I have failed my teammates and my coach. But I know that everyone on my team is not going to pass the volleyball perfectly every time. My teammates and coaches are very understanding of that. They all encourage me to get up and try again. I do not let the thought and fear of failure ruin my life, I let failure embolden me. This is not the only time I have overcame an obstacle, it has occurred more than once in my life. Overcoming a hard time is one reoccurring factor that will be there for the rest of mine and everybody else's life. It is so

Failure, when pertaining to human achievement is the act of not reaching success. Failure, though, in its own right is just an idea because as Winston Churchill once said, “ Success is not final, failure is not final; it is the courage to continue that counts.” This is a lesson I learned at the end of my freshman year of high school. Freshman year wasn’t my best year academically, athletically, or socially. I wasn’t specifically failing in any of those areas, but I released at the end of year how strikingly mundane I had been when I thought I should have been exceling. I beat myself up, considering anything less than my expectations a failure. I wanted to give up and not care. The weird thing is though, is that this mishap I had didn’t detour…

A time when I experienced extreme failure was when I was in my sophomore year of high school. When I started the year, I had the mindset of, “This is going to be easy. I’m not going to sweat it.” Reason being, in my freshman year, I passed all my classes easily and I thought the next school year would be the same. I was in for a rude awakening by then. It was my first year starting an AP class and I heard stories that it was going to be easy if one paid attention in class. As the first semester went, it was a struggle already. I had easily underestimated the workload and found myself barely passing with a C. I have the type of personality where I put a lot of pressure on myself and stress out easily; as one can imagine, I was very hard on myself.…

Everyday people strive for perfection, but the truth is that no one will ever achieve it. Within every task, challenge or achievement, failure is present. Most fear the possibility of failure because weaknesses are brought out and people feel vulnerable. On the other hand I witnessed a learning aspect from failure, and have a new understanding of it. Varsity football was where I faced a large amount of failure, but in turn learned many lessons.…

The word ‘Failure’ is seen so negatively most people hate to associate with it. A lack of success is one of those aspects of life that at first is upsetting, maybe even frustrating that ends up helping someone blossom. People learn from their defeats, learn to change and accept. In life, everyone will fail at something. Failure is defined as lack of success, or the inablitity to meet a goal. Failing, however, is not giving up. There have been many times in my life where I had to overcome adversity, but my best example was way back in elementary school from the grades kindergarten through 5th grade. I used to not care about my academic standpoint or ego on how people looked at me. I had the potential to be a very smart and excellent student and excelled in school but I didn’t take advantage and did everything possible to not do the work. In many circumstances, I would have lied or cheated so I wouldn’t have to do the work. My grades that I was getting was not a reflection of my smartness but a reflection of my arrogance and laziness. My parents would yell at me all the time and have long talks with me because they knew I was better than this and tried every possible…

Nobody ever wants to fail. When people think of “failure”, it usually is negative. Failure is commonly viewed as disappointment or not reaching desired goals. More often than not, it is associated with losing. After we experience failure, it is our choice how to internalize the experience. I believe that after failure, most people choose to stop taking big risks and stop from daring to dream big and instead let the failing experience label themselves as not good enough and adopt self-limiting beliefs about their own potential. The true fact is that we all fail; even the greatest amongst us failed many times over. Babe Ruth lead the Major Leagues in strike outs, yet he was known as the greatest hitter of his generation. Michael Jordan was “cut” from his high school basketball team and missed countless last second game winning shots, but despite these failures he is known as a true champion. Abraham Lincoln lost 7 elections, but his continued belief in himself and the causes he believed in propelled him to be the greatest U.S. President. If you study and read about most successful people, it is apparent that “failure” is not such a bad experience IF you realize and take the steps necessary to learn and grow thereafter. I truly believe that failure is part of the process to attain success. Failure is a necessary ingredient to greatness.…
