(Write on Board)Today I will talk to you about , what conditions cause avalanches, how avalanches form, and safety tips to avoid avalanches

II. Body A. First I would like to talk about the different conditions that increase the chance of an avalanche 1. The first condition is if there was heavy rain and snowfall it can make the snowback unstable * Most avalanches are triggered the first clear day after a storm

2. (Picture)The second condition is if there is a lot of windblown snow. * Wind can deposit snow 10 times faster than snow falling from storms * (Board) The windblown snow usually travels lee ward side of a mountain 3. The last and most important condition is a rapid increase in temperature and gravity * The nearer this brings the snow temperature to 0 degrees C, the higher the hazard
(picture)For example, have you ever noticed the layer of snow on a car windshield after a snowfall? While the temperature remains low, the snow sticks to the surface and does not slide off. After the temperature increases, however, the snow will slide, down the front of the windshield, often in small slabs
