Thesis: Emily Bronte was a poet who lived in England and wrote poems about her life as seen in her works, “No Coward Soul is Mine”, “Riches I Hold in Light Esteem”, “A Day Dream”.
Introduction: Emily Bronte was born in Yorkshire, England, July 30, 1818. At three years old, Emily was sent to Clergy Daughter’s School along with her three older sisters Maria, Elizabeth, and Charlotte where they encountered abuse described by Charlotte. Maria and Elizabeth caught Typhus which plagued the school and later died. Emily and Charlotte was pulled out after the Typhus swept the school. The remaining sisters and brother, …show more content…

A. It is shown in poems such as “A Day Dream”.
1. In the poem, Emily was outdoors daydreaming of the end of May. She daydreamed about the birds, trees, plants. Etc. She felt miserable because she knew that all those will be gone as winter approaches. During winter plants die and the animals will be gone. Then she wonders “what is the point of having good times if they will all just be gone?”
2. Later on, she gets a vision of angels telling her that all of us will die someday and told her that she doesn’t have to worry about winter and autumn anymore. Winter and autumn symbolises the hardships and pain we have to endure in our …show more content…

A. My relation with her poem “A Day Dream”.
1. Sometimes I contemplate on life thinking about what’s good and what’s bad in this world. Sometimes I wonder why we have good times if bad times are going to ruin it anyway. Then I try to find answers of my own. We have bad times to have better times. As humans we learn from experiences based from wrong doing.
2. Relation with “Riches I Hold in Light Esteem”.
1. Desire is what makes people greedy. It is what makes people commit mistakes whether it be material desire or desire for power and knowledge. Desiring something is what makes a person human. It is implanted in a human’s mind that we must acquire what we desire for our personal purposes. These purposes are usually intended for themselves and sometimes require a negative impact in others. Sometimes when you desire something and acquire it, you tend to hurt some others on the way. But having a free soul on the other hand, will make you careless and too free. Being careless will hurt yourself even if you don’t know it. It is not normal for a person to not desire anything for everyone desires something once in a while. This is why we must balance being free spirited and having desires to not hurt the ones we love and ourselves as
