1.1 Who was Otzi? Where and when was he found? (explain a lot!!!!!)
Two German tourists Helmut and Erika Simon found Otzi in the Otzal Alps on 19th September 1991 when they decided to take on a shortcut route on the hike. They found Otzi along the way, half buried with his head and torso sticking out of the ice. It was first thought that Otzi was one of the many hikers who had gone up the alps and had never made it back down again. However, after scientists discovered that this was actually a mummy which was about 5300 years old, scientists concluded that he might have been a shepherd of his time based on his tools and clothes.
