SCIENCE Energy Resources Research Assignment Nuclear Fission
Nuclear energy is a power produced during the nuclear reaction, It is an energy that is found in the nucleus of an Atom. Energy must be released so it could create electricity, it is released from the atoms in two ways by Nuclear Fusion or by Nuclear Fission. Nuclear Fusion is when energy is released which is when atoms are combined or fused together to form a bigger atom. Nuclear Fission is when atoms are divided and split apart from smaller atoms releasing energy. Some of the power plants burn fuel to produce the electricity needed but the no nuclear power plants don’t need to burn fuel. The nuclear plants use the heat that was given during the fission as fuel. The Nuclear power wastes radioactive waste and heat but the generated electricity does not emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The Radioactive wastes are usually trash, tools, protective clothing etc. Nuclear energy comes from uranium, a non-renewable source. There is 13% percent of the world’s electricity comes from nuclear power plants. It is used in more than 30 countries around the world. The Nuclear power plants in some countries produce 2,000 metric tons of radioactive waste every year.
Some of the Advantages:
• Clear power
• Useful source of energy
• Fuel can be recycled
Some of the disadvantages:
• high risk disaster (Chernobyl)
• Waste produced with nowhere to put it (no land)
• Earthquakes can cause damage
• Contamination of the environment
POSITIVE IMPACTS:
Nuclear power plants don’t pollute the air such as the greenhouse gases. Nuclear power plants provide low-cost and they are cheap and provide a stable electric power system. It can be used to run large vehicles. It could be used in the x-rays in hospitals and medical centres.
NEGATIVE IMPACTS:
There were Nuclear power plants accidents since 1952.
One of the accidents was the one in Japan in the

Nuclear power plants do not release harmful carbon dioxide into the environment like the fossil fuels that are mostly used. Therefore, it can actually help with the problem of global warming around the world and even here. Nuclear power plants are also considered more reliable since they do not depend on the wind or the sun in order to produce energy. This means that nuclear energy can provide a more reliable base load of energy even when the demand for energy is very high like during the summer months when everyone is using their air conditioners.…

Nuclear energy is created by a specific nuclear reaction in which atoms are split ( nuclear fission ). This is a necessity to produce energy due to the fact that nuclear energy is the energy in the nucleus of an atom. There a substantial amount of energy in the nucleus because energy is what holds the nucleus together and is where the energy is produced from. This process occur in a power…

Mostly everyone wants to live a strong and healthy life, but reality is that they are people suffering from end-stage organ failure and the number of people keeps growing, because of this we are in great need of organ donors around the world. We are grateful to have courageous organ donors that make a decision to donate, for that reason a person is blessed to have a lifesaving organ which they can live a normal life. Organ donor intensivist coordinate with the healthcare team with organ donors that patients already declare brain dead. Having teams placed in the hospital have led to successful salvage of organs that is greatly needed for people waiting for their lifesaving…

Nuclear energy uses nuclear fission to generate heat. Nuclear fission is where atoms are split apart which releases energy. All nuclear power plants use nuclear fission. Nuclear fission is where a neutron hits a uranium atom and splits it releasing a large amount of energy. More neutrons are released when a uranium atom splits hitting more uranium atoms. This is called a nuclear chain reaction.…

The chemical reaction that creates nuclear power is known as nuclear fission. When uranium is blasted with fast-moving atoms known as neutrinos, they become unstable and split, releasing more fast-moving neutrinos and energy in the form of radiation (Redd). When nuclear fission occurs, there are byproducts of the fuel known as fission products. Fission products are highly radioactive and will be such for thousands of years. The current method of disposal is storage in water to shield the outside world from the radiation until it decays enough to be stored deep within the Earth. Other methods include the recycling and transmutation of waste into other products and the incineration of waste within the Sun (Touran). Although it may seem that nuclear energy isn’t safe for the environment, it is exponentially cleaner than current fossil fuels. By 2013, it has on average prevented 64 gigatonnes of CO2-equivalent greenhouse gas and 1.84 million air pollution-related deaths (Hansen and Pushker). With the replacement of fossil fuels as an energy source, this number can only…

Nuclear energy can be very dangerous but can also be cleaner than other energy sources by creating less pollution than fossil fuels. It is an advanced form of energy that has only been available for the past 50 years. It is very similar to fossil fuel in that it uses steam turbines to produce electricity. It uses uranium to produce heat in a process called nuclear fission where neutrons are smashed into the nucleus of atoms splitting them and releasing heat energy.…

Nuclear power is an energy source obtained through nuclear fission, a process where neutrons (sub-atomic particles) are smashed into the nuclei of uranium atoms, causing them to split and release energy in the form of heat. This heat is then used to turn water into steam to turn turbines, much like in power stations that produce energy from burning fossil fuels, except without the carbon dioxide emissions which contribute to the greenhouse effect and air pollution. The reactors use uranium rods as fuel and each rod can last for several years before needing to be replaced. The map on the right shows the locations of nuclear power stations in the UK, their generating capacity and anticipated closure dates.…

A nuclear plant does not require much land needed to build also, some may not know that nuclear energy does not contribute to air pollution so it’s pro global warming. Another benefit is that nuclear power produces lots of amount of energy the 2 percents that is converted to electricity is more than the 50 percent of energy that is converted to electricity by using fossil fuels. On the other hand, nuclear energy can cause damage to the environment by releasing great amounts of radioactive waste. Not to mention, nuclear energy is not limitless the uranium used can runout just like fossil fuels. Also, nuclear accidents can cause lots of damage to the environment can even be fatal to nearby residents in extreme cases.…

Fake nuclear Power is also used for the good of mankind. Nuclear medication is the practice of creating specific emitting radiation components for the cure of diseases and other disorders. The drugs are made in nuclear devices and typically have a very small time before they decay and so requirement is completed fresh and used very fast. Nuclear Power Plants are used to produce about 20% of the electricity in the US, the same proportion as regular gas producers. Nuclear Power plant main generators do not create carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases; therefore the impact of nuclear power plants to global warming is quite slight. This equipment is eagerly obtainable, it doesn’t have to be established first .It is likely to produce a great quantity of electrical energy in in only one plant.…

Nuclear power plants work on the chemical process of fission. Nuclear reactors are used to generate electricity. Fission is a type of nuclear reaction in which, when the atoms of certain elements called nuclear fuels absorb free neutrons, they split into two or more small nuclei and some free neutrons. In the process, large amount of energy is released. The free neutrons further strike the atoms of other fissile materials, thus setting off a chain reaction. The energy released from this chain reaction is harnessed to generate electricity.…
