Doubled Stuffed Oreos?
Introduction and Hypothesis:
When in your in a store, there are two different sized of Oreos to choose from, either the regular Oreos or the doubled stuffed Oreos. Is the doubled stuffed Oreos really double the stuffing, if so it may be a good deal to spend a little extra? We want to know if the Oreos are worth its deal. We know that the DSO (double stuffed Oreo) is taller than the regular Oreos. We will soon find out if the DSO is really doubled the stuffing. Since the DSO looks larger, it may be doubled than the regular Oreos.
-If double stuffed Oreos have double the filling, then the filling will have a larger mass.
Materials:
4 regular Oreos
4 DSO
I scale
1 paper plate
1 napkin
Procedure:
1. Weigh all the regular and DSO on the scale.
2. Record into the data.
3. Find the average of each type of Oreos.
4. Repeat step 2.
5. Scrape off all the filling with a fork.
6. Weigh two of the cookie wafers that have no filling.
7. Use the equation (1 cookie – 2 cookie wafers) for each Oreos to just get the filling.
8. Repeat step 2.
9. Divide the two filling of the Oreos. (DSO cream/Reg. cream)
Results (Data):

original
DS
1 cookie
11.46
15.29 cream 2.96
6.79

Error:
-Not cleaning the cream off the wafers.
-Human Error
-Rounding the weight of the Oreos.
Analysis:
Our hypothesis was confirmed. The purpose of this lab was to find out if Double Stuffed Oreos are actually double the filling. The results showed that the mass of the filling was a little more than double the regular Oreos. There were no trends because we’re only testing two things. Another experiment that could be an extension of this one is bounty paper towel vs. regular paper towel; which is more absorbent?

The purpose of the design is to test and compare three brands of gummy bears. The three bands we will be testing are Trolli, Sweet Smiles, and Haribo. The purpose of the experiment was to test and compare the three brands to determine which has the best chewiness and which has the best flavor. The third criteria tested was the elasticity between the three brands, meaning which brand can resume normal shape after being stretched. Our prediction for the study was that Trolli will be ranked highest in both flavor and chewiness. We also predicted that the subjects responses will prove that…

After researching, I found two studies that are similar to my experiment. One study by Sean Boyd (2007) tested to see which brand of microwave popcorn yielded the least amount of un-popped kernels. Mr. Boyd tested five brands of butter flavored microwave popcorn: Aldi, Act II, Orville Redenbacher, Jolley Time and Pop-Secret. His experiment proved his hypothesis partially wrong. Mr. Boyd hypothesized that Orville Redenbacher would be the best and Aldi's would be the worst. His experiment proved that Act II produced the least amount of un-popped kernels while Aldi's did have the most un-popped kernels on average.…

In gymnosperms, pollination is the transfer of pollen (Fig. 2) from male cones (where pollen is produced) to female cones, which house eggs. In these plants, pollen is carried from male cones to female cones by wind - gymnosperms were the first plants to evolve that did not need free water to transfer sperm to egg, and were therefore able to thrive in terrestrial habitats. Pollen grains are also protected by tough coats. After fertilization, seeds are produced with developing embryos…

To predict caloric expenditure you can plug in a measured heart rate and calculate the predicted VO2 (L/min). Then using the predicted VO2 and an estimated thermal equivalent (4.825 kcal/LO2), you can estimate the caloric expenditure. Nonetheless, each individual’s heart rate varies. These can be attributed to gender differences, physical activity and physical training. So, if the person is of the same gender and is as healthy as you are and does the same amount of exercise then it could be possible to use their regression line to estimate your own caloric expenditure however the limitations would be possibly the difference in size of the lungs for the estimation of VO2 max. Weight would be important, as it is required to calculate the predicted caloric expenditure. However if your weight can be misleading because one can simply weigh more because they are taller, not because they are bigger. Height does not play such an important role. When you are taller, your body does need to pump more blood throughout the body. This means that they will pump more blood per beat but not that they would have a higher heart rate. It is important to remember that a linear relationship exists between…
