Appendix A: Uploading product images
If your product images are in a format other than JPG, you will need to convert them. This can be accomplished by opening the file in almost any image manipulation program and then saving a copy in JPG format, ending in the .jpg extension. The file name should follow the format productID.jpg, where productID is the Direct Fasteners product number product depicted. For example, the image for product 7001 should be named 7001.jpg. It is important that the filename for the image be set correctly, as this is how the system matches products to their corresponding image file. You can use an FTP client, or any other file transfer method supported by your web hosting service, to upload product images for use by the ordering system. Product images are stored in the dfstore/images/products subdirectory on your web server. If you do no have an FTP client installed on you system, we recommend FileZilla. It is a free program which can be found at the website below: http://filezilla-project.org/ If you need an image manipulation program to convert product images to JPG format, we recommend IrfanView, a free program which can be found at the address below: http://www.irfanview.com/
