Disadvantages:
higher price of ODI lenses many problems which aroused while testing the lenses lack of professional personnel and facilities lack of recycling plan for old lenses
2. In what geographic areas should ODI focus its efforts?
They want to concentrate their efforts firstly in California and Oregon and then after they want to invest and spread on other regions like South Atlantic regions like North Carolina and Georgia.
3. On what market segments (in addition to geographic) should ODI focus its effor?
ODI wants to focus mainly on medium and large farms which are farms with more than 10,000 chicken and they should avoid smaller farms with less than 10,000 because they are relucant to new technologies, they are family-owned, they have a declining rate and cannibalism is probably not big issue. They should focus on medium and large farms because they are professionally operated, have more employees, large transactions and problem with cannibalism is a serious issue.
4. What pricing policy should ODI adopt?
The minimum price Garrison and Olson agreed is $ 0,08. The savings with such price are $ 0,34. Price skimming is the best pricing policy since this product is in the introduction phase. They should start with higher price and then lower the price as patent runs out in 3 years. This strategy will maximize short-term contribution which will allow ODI to invest in R&D.

Factory farms are owned and operated by big corporations, and despite the fact they make up only a small percentage of farms in the United States, they are responsible for most of the meat and eggs we consume here (Sierra Club, 2005). In factory farming, baby piglets are castrated without anesthesia and thrown into a pen, where they huddle in a corner writhing in pain. Egg laying chickens are crammed four or five to a cage (45x50cm) for their entire lives. They cannot spread their wings or stretch out in any way, and they never see daylight. To prevent them from pecking at one another, their beaks are brutally burnt or sliced to a stub. To produce veal, newborn calves are confined in small crates and restrained to allow a minimum of movement until they are slaughtered at just five months old. Factory farmed animals are treated like non-living commodities, suffering horrendous cruelties to produce the maximum profit at the least amount of cost. In recent years public awareness about factory farming conditions has grown, and so have concerns over animal cruelty and public health.     Instead of having the animals placed so closely together, they should actually be placed on a free range with wide open spaces. This would actually allow some of the animals to at least see sunlight for a day in their lives, instead of being cooped up in the sheds and cages with numerous others of their kind. This would not only help fix the first problem I introduced to you, but also the second. Because the animals wouldn’t be placed so closely together, they would get as many viruses or diseases leading to less use of antibiotics.
