Oprah an Effective Leader
Oprah is able to be such an effective leader because she manages to maintain a huge influence on many people’s lives. 44 million people watch her show across 150 different countries. She has been called the perfect talk show host and has inspired other hosts such as Dr.Phil and Dr. Oz, to strive to help as many people as they can. (Caroline, 2011). She is extremely relatable and often opens herself up (even to the point of crying) to guests on her show in order to allow them to open themselves up as well. She gets is very intimate and she has a way of letting even the viewers at home feel like they are a part of the conversation.

Oprah says the ultimate way to achieve personal growth is to completely understand yourself and find roots to problems in order to learn from them and solve them. While the Oprah show is viewed as therapy by many, it is also viewed by some as a complete religion. It is through her encouragement of spirituality and transformation that she is able to viewed this way. While helping people and setting up her own charity, Oprah has also accumulated a vast net worth and is a very successful businesswoman. She has managed to infiltrate each of the main channels of communication, and has made influential changes to America and other parts of the world. She manages to break down walls and make private into public. Oprah often speaks openly on discussions that may be sensitive to some, in order to open the topic up to millions and desensitize it.

Bottom line is when Oprah talks… people listen. She has rocketed items into popularity just by mentioning them on her show, such as the eco bag. She has boycotted products such as beef because of the mad cow crisis and poor slaughterhouse conditions. People followed suit and she was hit with an 11 million dollar lawsuit(Caroline, 2011). She works to change the world, and the world changes as she works.

Oprah’s talk show has come to an end after 25 years but she managed to blow boundaries
