Opposites Attract

It was a bright sunny day outside and I could hear the sound of the ocean waves and seagulls. The water was rising and recoiling. I was rushing from the parking lot to the beach. I was hosting a party for four really important people and I was really excited and nervous because these four people were from opposite backgrounds. My guests were Lilly Singh, Katniss Everdeen, Demi Lovato, and Tris Prior. They were so different from each other that I didn’t know how this would end up but I remembered an old saying “Opposites Attract”. I wanted everything to be perfect and nothing should mess up. I had set up everything for example the games and the food. Though we will be mostly be in the water and we will be doing boat racing

The party was lame. Conrad would not let me do like anything. He was like my father. I got so irritated that I walked away and met a guy named Cam. He remembers me from a camp in DC. He was smarter then me but we had a lot in common. Cameron was a straightedge, which meant he lived with an addict and was using chemicals but stopped. Maybe Cameron was someone I would fall in love with instead of Conrad. That night Cam gave me his hoodie and we watched fireworks. I knew that night made me like someone else and made Conrad jealous As Cam and I got more serious and hung out more, the more Conrad was jealous and acting outrageous. The scariest moment was the first date Cameron took me on. We weren’t there long but what I did remember was Jeremiah…

When we were about to start I heard a sound. I told the leader, “I heard some lightning. Does that mean we have to cancel the hike?” Then she looked up and saw lightning. The radio from her waist said, if you see any lightning, report it. She didn’t want to, but it was canceled and that meant we had our campfire inside. On the way back I heard a coyote sound which I thought was cool since they said,” it will be pretty rare to hear a coyote.” The next day we had breakfast and we visited the souvenir store. They had stuffed animals ,shirts ,bottles and pins. I bought an owl and three pins since they were cheap. I was so happy I went to Atwood. If I didn’t go, I wouldn’t have had the fun when doing Predator Prey, Alpha Wolf, the solo hike, teamwork activities and making the s'mores. Before we left, they gave us all a special dessert to say goodbye and then we packed our things and went on the bus. Most kids were all rushing to sit in the back of the bus. When we got back to school there were parents everywhere. My aunt picked me up, I hugged her and was happy to be back home from three days. I had to go inside school since my folder with my homework was in it. That’s when I told her It was the best because of the things that happened. There were some incidents , but for most of it I had fun at…

The day begun just fine. I was ten years old and it was a few days after I arrived in Florida. It was summer, in the year 2009 and my cousins and I were very bored. Before I arrived in Florida, my aunt promised me that she would have taken me somewhere, but she wasn't sure where as yet. A few minutes later, my older cousin- Que wanner arrived from work, exclaiming that she got free tickets to Sea World. Hearing about it all the time and watching the advertisements on the television, I was really anxious!…

We continued to drive for about thirty more minutes, and I soon realized that we were getting close to the beach. I could smell the salt in the cool breeze of air from my window. It was mixed with the sweet fragrance of food from the boardwalk. When we arrived at our destination, my father checked us into our rooms at the Silver Leaf Resort. I really wasn’t paying too much attention to my surroundings, because I was bursting with excitement wanting to go to the beach. I begged my mother and father till I turned blue saying “please can we go to the beach now.” “Pretty please with sure on top.” My father just looked at me with that solemn face he always has and said “yes, baby girl we can unpack later.” “Now let’s head to the beach.” I screamed like a banshee with excitement and ran to the room and changed into my swim wear. I grabbed my maroon beach towel with my pale and shovel, and my mini purse that contained my shades, bubbles, and sun screen.…

Excuse making is part of your auto-pilot meta-programming. In fact, excuses are red flags, revealing what you TRULY believe, what your most closely held TRUTHS and beliefs are. The reason we make excuses is called cognitive dissonance in psychology. Cognitive dissonance is when our behavior and actions conflict with our attitudes and beliefs. According to Saul McLeod, in Simply Psychology, “It is the feeling of discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviors to reduce the discomfort and restore balance.” (Like when you know eating cakes, pies, cookies and ice cream (behavior) and you know all along that eating those things leads to obesity and health issues (cognition).…

We eventually had the idea to go swimming. I love swimming in Arizona because the water is not cold in and back at home we don’t have a pool. The things I don’t like is that we have to wait for an adult to watch us and in the daytime the ground is so hot with red ants crawling all over as we walk to the pool. Once we finished changing to our swimsuits we all rushed out the door into the warm dark night. Shaun immediately jumped into the turquoise water lit up from the one light at the bottom splashing my family. Gabe and I then put our towels on the closest chair to us and jumped after…

When I came out of the water my body was freezing. It felt like I had just jumped into the frozen ice cold Arctic Ocean water. After I got the frisbee we went to the blanket and ate. I had a delicious turkey sandwich with cheese and mustard. We had a nice, calm family meal. We talked about our days and what we enjoyed most. My sister had went on a date with her boyfriend earlier in the day. They had gone to Walker Brothers for brunch. She explained how when the waiter brought them water to the table, the waiter dropped the glass on her boyfriend Brian. She said “his pants were so wet it looked like he just jumped into a pool.” When I saw the picture I fell over because I was laughing so hard. After dinner we watched the sun set on the…

I walked in the big huge giant building I started to have goose bumps all over my body, my heart started to race as fast as a rocket, I was so nervous. It was all dark and the music was so loud my ears felt as if I was on a plane and about to take off. Everyone was dancing, drinking and doing all sorts of things I only thought happened in movies. I looked on my right and there was Adriana with some guy sitting on his lap and drinking, she moved quit fast. I went over to check if she was okay. She said she was but she sure didn’t look okay. I was already starting to regret coming to this party. I didn’t fit with these people, I was with all the ‘popular’ people but I still felt like an outcast.…

I got in my bikini and slipped my blue summer dress over the top and put on my sandals. I brushed my hair, grabbed my handbag shoved in my lip-gloss, phone and purse and ran out the door. I was so excited to finally be going out on a date with the biggest crush of my life. I was out of breath from running to the beach three blocks from my home. I was looking around for Matt but couldn’t see him anywhere. I sat down for around 30 minutes watching the sun set. It was beautiful.…

The study on the Law of Attraction surrounds the issue concerning the concept that humans have the ability to draw wanted and unwanted objects into their lives through what is created by one’s thoughts and energy. To change a way of life, one must change his/her way of thought. The Law of Attraction proves to be the most powerful law in the universe, as is shown through the study of quantum physics and the relationship between the flow of energy into and out of the body. If humans learn to manifest the energies of the universe and one’s own being in a proper manner, we will be able to accomplish everything our hearts desire, according to the Law of Attraction. The study on the Law of Attraction proves the Law to be an active contributor towards improving quality of life, both in person and professional aspects.…
